Double bill of Pixar animated children's features. In 'Finding Nemo' (2003), motherless clownfish Nemo (voice of Alexander Gould) is carried away from his home in Australia's Great Barrier Reef. His overprotective father, Marlin (Albert Brooks), and Dory (Ellen DeGeneres), a friendly but forgetful regal blue tang fish, go to his rescue. The two embark on an adventure that leads to encounters with a range of colourful characters including Bruce the Great White Shark (Barry Humphries), a sea tortoise called Crush (Andrew Stanton) and a pelican called Nigel (Geoffrey Rush). In 'Finding Dory' (2016), Dory unexpectedly remembers something about her childhood which leads her on a journey to find her family. Accompanied by Marlin and Nemo (Hayden Rolence), Dory leads the group to California with the help of powerful water currents. However, after venturing to the surface, Dory is captured and sent to the nearby Marine Life Institute. With Dory in quarantine, Nemo and Marlin team up with seven-legged octopus Hank (Ed O'Neill) to launch a rescue mission.

Collection of three Wes Anderson films. In 'The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou' (2004) internationally famous oceanographer Steve Zissou (Bill Murray) and his crew, Team Zissou, set sail on an expedition to hunt down the mysterious, elusive, possibly non-existant Jaguar Shark that killed Zissou's partner during the documentary filming of their last adventure. They are joined on their voyage by a young airline co-pilot who may or may not be Zissou's son (Owen Wilson), a beautiful journalist (Cate Blanchett) assigned to write a profile of Zissou, and Zissou's estranged wife and co-producer Eleanor (Anjelica Huston). They face overwhelming complications including pirates, kidnapping and bankruptcy. Narrated by Alec Baldwin, 'The Royal Tenenbaums' (2001) is about an oddball New York family of former child geniuses. Before their marriage floundered, Royal Tenenbaum (Gene Hackman) and his wife Etheline (Angelica Huston) succeeded in raising three prodigies: business supremo Chas (Ben Stiller), prize-winning playwright Margot (Gwyneth Paltrow) and tennis champion Richie (Luke Wilson). Now, after years of separation, and with the children grown-up and the memory of their prodigy faded, Royal returns to his family and tries to make amends. However, with Royal's history of lies and betrayal, his offspring - who all now have problems of their own - are going to have trouble welcoming him back. In 'Rushmore' (1998) Max Fischer (Jason Schwartzman) is a 10th grade pupil at Rushmore Academy. When not daydreaming, Max pours all of his energy into his beloved extra-curricular activities, often to the neglect of his studies. His determination to make a name for himself is sent into overdrive by the arrival of pretty new teacher Miss Cross (Olivia Williams). Outside of school, Max is taken under the wing of middle-aged steel tycoon Herman Blume (Murray), whose sons are boorish thugs. Things begin to go awry when Mr Blume falls for Miss Cross himself, and Max becomes unhinged with jealousy. His schemes to win the affections of his teacher grow ever more extreme, while his academic life threatens to collapse around him.
Academy Award-winning animated comedy by Walt Disney Studios featuring the voice talents of Scott Adsit and Ryan Potter. 14-year-old robotics genius Hiro Hamada (Potter) spends his days being a typical teenager, getting into fights and struggling to cope with his changing body. When his older brother Tadashi (Daniel Henney) becomes concerned that his brother is wasting his potential, he takes him to the robotics lab at his university where he introduces him to Baymax (Adsit), an inflatable robot created and developed by Tadashi himself. Programmed to take care of humans, Baymax starts to work with Hiro and encourages him to focus on his invention of microbots. When Hiro and Baymax discover that someone has been copying his ideas and creating microbots of their own, the pair team up to find the masked assailant. The film won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature.
Tom Hanks and Emma Thompson star in this Academy Award-nominated drama based on the life of author P.L. Travers and Walt Disney's attempt to gain the rights to adapt her novel 'Mary Poppins'. In 1961, when her book sales begin to decline, Travers (Thompson) reluctantly enters into negotiations with Disney (Hanks), who promised his daughters 20 years previously that he would turn their favourite story into a movie. Initially Travers is unyielding and flashbacks to her childhood in 1907 demonstrate why her novel and, in particular, her eponymous character are so precious to her. Eventually she agrees to let Disney go ahead with the movie but will she approve of the final outcome? The cast also features Colin Farrell, Paul Giamatti, Jason Schwartzman and Ruth Wilson. Thomas Newman received an Oscar nomination for his score.

An impressive supporting cast - Frank Gorshin, Elsa Lanchester, Roddy McDowall and Ed Wynn - add to the nonstop zaniness.
Classic comedy about two 13-year-old identical twins (both played by Hayley Mills), who meet for the very first time in summer camp. They soon learn that they were separated at a very early age when their parents Mitch (Brian Keith) and Margaret (Maureen O'Hara) divorced. On a lark, the twins switch places: the one living with Keith goes back home with O'Hara, and vice versa. Keith is planning to remarry the 'wrong woman', vituperative Vicky (Joanna Barnes). The twins conspire to reunite their parents, but the road to reconciliation is rough indeed.
Classic comic espionage caper from Disney studios starring Peter Ustinov and Derek Nimmo. Lord Southmere (Nimmo) hides a top-secret microfilm containing the formula for the mysterious 'Lotus X' in a dinosaur skeleton at the Natural History Museum in London after narrowly escaping from a gang of ruthless Chinese spies. When he realises that the spies are following him, he instructs his former nanny Hettie (Helen Hayes) to retrieve the microfilm. Southmere is then promptly recaptured by the head spy, Hnup Wan (Peter Ustinov), while the resourceful Hettie assembles a group of fellow nannies to help her search for the microfilm. But the nannies are up against the cunning of the evil spy gang, who will stop at nothing to get to the prized Lotus X before Hettie and her helpers.
Young Jim Hawkins (Bobby Driscoll) finds himself set for adventure on the high seas when he is entrusted with a treasure map by ailing pirate Billy Bones.The map shows the location of treasure buried by Bones' former captain, Flint. Other members of Flint's crew are also after the booty, so Jim is accompanied by Squire Trelawney and Doctor Livesy as they make their way by sea to the island where the treasure is hidden. However, some of Flint's crew, led by the one-legged John Silver (Robert Newton), have managed to inveigle their way aboard Jim's ship as crew members, and will stop at nothing to get their hands on the treasure.
Hitman Martin Blank's (John Cusack) day goes from bad to worse when he messes up his latest job due to the intervention of his rival, Grocer (Dan Aykroyd). To make amends with his client, Martin has to travel to Grosse Pointe and take out a Federal witness. This trip coincides with his high school reunion, so Martin meets up with his former sweetheart Debi (Minnie Driver), unaware that he is being tailed by two government agents and Felix, another rival assassin who is out for his blood.
Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson star in this action adventure sequel based on the Marvel Comics series. Set two years after 'The Avengers' (2012), the film follows superhero Steve Rogers aka Captain America (Evans) who is now living in Washington where he is trying to adjust to modern society. When a fellow S.H.I.E.L.D. agent is attacked he teams up with Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow (Johansson) to uncover a conspiracy and, with the help of the Falcon (Anthony Mackie), defeat a powerful enemy known as the Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan). The cast also includes Samuel L. Jackson, Robert Redford, Cobie Smulders, Dominic Cooper and Emily VanCamp.
Triple bill featuring the original 1989 film along with the 2000 sequel and 2008 prequel. In 'The Little Mermaid' (1989), Ariel (voice of Jodi Benson) is the mermaid daughter of King Triton (voice of Kenneth Mars), and lives beneath the waves. However, Ariel longs to see the world above, especially after rescuing a handsome prince from drowning. To this end she makes a deal with sea witch Ursula (voice of Pat Carroll) to live above the sea in exchange for her beautiful singing voice. Ariel soon regrets her decision, however, when it transpires that her father's kingdom is at risk. In 'The Little Mermaid II - Return to the Sea' (2000), Ariel (voice of Benson) and Eric (voice of Rob Paulsen) have had a baby daughter, Melody (voice of Tara Strong), but the threat of reprisal from Ursula's sister Morgana (voice of Carroll) means that they must keep the girl in the dark about her mermaid heritage. However, to be a mermaid is what Melody wants most and her dreams of the sea soon find her playing into the evil Morgana's hands. To set things right, Ariel must team up with her old chums Sebastian (voice of Samuel E. Wright), Flounder (Cam Clarke) and Scuttle (voice of Buddy Hackett) and embark upon a daring rescue mission. Finally, in 'The Little Mermaid - Ariel's Beginning' (2008), Ariel (voice of Benson) finds herself torn between her love of music and her family duty. With the help of her friends, Sebastian (voice of Wright) and Flounder (voice of Parker Goris), and her six sisters, Ariel sets about to try and restore music, friendship and love to the Kingdom of Atlantica.

Double bill featuring two popular Disney movies. In 'The Jungle Book' (1967), after being abandoned as a child, young Mowgli (voiced by Bruce Reitherman) is brought up in the jungle by wolves. However, when the news arrives that murderous, man-hating tiger Shere Khan (George Sanders) has returned, Mowgli's friends Bagheera (Sebastian Cabot) and Baloo (Phil Harris) set out to return the reluctant mancub to the humans' village. Their task is not made any easier when Mowgli is kidnapped at the behest of monkey ruler King Louie (Louis Prima), who wishes to learn the secret of man's power - fire! Disney Studios' nineteenth animated feature was the last to be overseen by founder Walt before his death, and won an Academy Award nomination for the song 'Bare Necessities'. 'The Jungle Book 2' (2003) follows Mowgli (voiced by Haley Joel Osment) as he adapts to life with humans, having followed the girl, Shanti, he saw collecting water at the end of the first film. Finding it hard to live among humans all the time he decides to visit his old friend Baloo (John Goodman) but Shere Khan gets wind of this and he still has an old score to settle.
Tim Burton's Academy Award-nominated black and white stop-motion homage to Mary Shelley's 'Frankenstein' is a remake of his 1984 short of the same name. The story follows a young boy called Victor (voiced by Charlie Tahan), who harnesses the powers of science to bring his beloved pet dog, Sparky, back to life - with unexpected and alarming consequences. The film also features the voice talents of Winona Ryder, Martin Short, Catherine O'Hara and Martin Landau.
John Lasseter directs this Pixar animated comedy adventure sequel. When slow-witted tow truck Mater (voiced by Larry the Cable Guy) travels to Tokyo with his superstar friend Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson) for the international Grand Prix, sleek Aston Martin Finn McMissile (Michael Caine) and his sidekick Holley Shiftwell (Emily Mortimer) become convinced that Mater is, despite his unassuming appearance, nothing less than a brilliant international spy.
Disney's CGI-animated comedy adventure which retells the classic Brothers Grimm fairy tale 'Rapunzel'. While hiding out in a seemingly abandoned tower deep in the forest, handsome young bandit Flynn Rider (voice of Zachary Levi) is surprised to discover that the tower does in fact have an occupant in the form of feisty long-haired teen Rapunzel (Mandy Moore). Rapunzel, who has been looking for a means of escape from the tower in which she has been grounded for her entire life, strikes a deal with the dashing outlaw and the unlikely pair soon find themselves caught up in the adventure of a lifetime as they face magic, monsters and villains in their quest for freedom.
Elizabeth, Will and the crew of the Black Pearl sail off the edge of the map (literally) with the help of the mysterious Tia Dalma and the late Captain Barbossa who has been raised from the dead to save Captain Jack Sparrow. Captain Jack has been condemned to the terrible fate of remaining in the void of Davey Jones' locker for eternity. But rescuing Jack isn't the only obstacle for our intrepid heroes - Lord Cutler Beckett has control of the heart of Davey Jones, and with that he controls the sea. The nine pirate lords of the world must unite for a final stand against Beckett, Jones and the East India Trade company. |
