Being in the field of medicine and plastic surgery, I have realised
just having knowledge and skills are not enough to be a successful
plastic surgeon; you need to be a general surgeon, a doctor, and
most importantly, a compassionate human being to be successful. You
also need to be a good administrator, leader, businessman, and
politician. You need to be a good teacher to continue the legacy.
This is what I am striving to accomplish. My wish is that I will be
able to follow my profession with dignity, sincerity, ethically and
legally, and to teach the youngsters to do the same. This book is
about a great discipline that is called plastic surgery. It is an
intensely personal subject that causes a great deal of debate,
often very emotional. More than any other branch of medicine, it is
also surrounded by a dense, almost impenetrable fog of rumor,
myths, and misconceptions. This book will educate you to understand
what goes behind the scene. Not only that, but everything you need
to know about the plastic and cosmetic surgery from choosing the
right surgeon to avoiding disasters and getting the treatment you
really need is here in the book.
Scarlet Roads presents the real experiences of Don Mangus in story
form, where characters and places have been changed to protect the
innocent. He challenges all religions to look into themselves and
their own inequities, and ask how a Creator would give us a world
of suffering and pain, agony and loss, love and rejection, and
endless loneliness and regret. How could He or She allow such
misery to exist? Throughout the surgical experiences, the reader
will find humor intertwined within the tragedy.
This is an inspiring book which contains a compilation of women's
stories who have triumphed though a diagnosis of breast cancer and
who have had breast reconstruction. Their beautiful results are
depicted in photos taken by Scott Walz. The book was written to
raise awareness of the importance of breast reconstruction in
breast cancer patients. The "Pearls" section describes how and why
different methods of breast reconstruction are used to reconstruct
an aesthetically pleasing breast with minimal downtime.
If your practice isn't as busy as it should be, if your phone isn't
ringing enough, or not at all, if you're losing too much business
to your competitors, if you get too many tire-kickers in your
office, if you don't enjoy selling, or if you simply want more,
then it will pay to read this book. Nick Dumitru has been helping
practices surpass their competition for well over a decade. And his
advice starts with one simple concept. Growing a practice is
formulaic. It's simple and works every time -- provided you have a
proven formula. This book is about that proven practice growth
formula.

As a plastic surgeon, I have spent countless hours speaking to
women about the various pros and cons of cosmetic breast surgery,
the different options available and the right procedure to obtain
the results desired. Just as every patient and every breast is
different from the next, the proper procedure will likely be
different as well. It has, for many years, been my pleasure to
experience the look of joy on a woman's face when the right
procedure and the right implant come together to create the perfect
look for her. While I can't condense all of the experience and
knowledge I have culled over the years into a book of this size,
what I do hope is that many of the questions you have about your
upcoming cosmetic breast surgery will be answered in a way that you
find valuable.
