Children ages four to seven will discover that the biggest, best light is God's love and that walking in it protects them from sin's harmful shadows. Equally important, they will be encouraged to shine God's light on others. Using imagery children will understand, this creative and colorful picture book vividly explains how all people were created in God's image and explores the far-reaching implications of that truth. If we all bear God's image, we are all equally important and loved, regardless of our color, culture, or background. We also carry inside us the light of God's love, a pure and perfect light that dispels the shadows created by sin. The Biggest, Best Light is a valuable tool parents can use to initiate meaningful conversations with their young children about sin, sanctity of life, equality, and our purpose as God's light bearers.

Why is this night different from all other nights? Every year when families gather for the Passover holiday, the youngest child poses that question as part of the poetic Four Questions near the start of the Seder. The answers are no less than the story of a people bound in slavery, their suffering in a foreign land, and their ultimate liberation - the story of Passover. Here the Four Questions are presented in breathtakingly luminous paintings by Ori Sherman. Whimsical animals parade through a unique format that can be read straight through in English or turned upside down to focus on the delicate Hebrew calligraphy and ingenious split-frame pictures. Each side of the Seder table can see its own variation of the richly colored scenes as elephants eat matzoh, monkeys dip herbs into water, and lions recline in newfound freedom. Author Lynne Sharon Schwartz answers the questions with refreshing clarity, providing insight into the symbols and rituals of the holiday. Experience a glorious art book, a beautiful gift for the kids who find the afikomen, and a wonderful way to experience Passover and its unique celebration of freedom.

This book has its origins in a special issue of the journal Science & Education (Volume 18 Numbers 6-7, 2009). The essay by Costas Skordoulis - 'Science and Worldviews in the Marxist Tradition' - did not appear in that special issue due to a mistake in production scheduling. It was published in an earlier issue of the journal (Volume 17 Number 6, 2008), but has been included in this book version of the special issue. As explained in the Introduction, the catalyst for the journal special issue was the essay on 'Science, Worldviews and Education' submitted to the journal by Hugh G. Gauch Jr. This was circulated to the other contributors who were asked to write their own contribution in the light of the arguments and literature contained in the paper. Hugh made brief 'Responses and Clari?cations' after the papers were written. However the Tanis Edis article on Islam and my own article on Priestley were processed too late to bene't from Hugh's appraisal. The journal is associated with the International History, Philosophy, and Science Teaching Group which was formed in 1987. The group stages biennial international conferences and occasional regional conferences (details can be found at www. ihpst. org). The group, though the journal, conferences, and its electronic newsletter (at www. ihpst.
