Many multi-vehicle motorcycle crashes involve right-of-way violations where another vehicle turns in front of, or crosses the path of an on-coming motorcycle. Improving the frontal conspicuity of motorcycles with auxiliary forward lighting may reduce these types of crashes. Announced in 1957 this fiberglass monocoque did not go into full production until 1959 when the new factory at Cheshunt was opened. Coventry Climax supplied complete engines mated to BMC's B-series gearbox. The fully trimmed body shells were produced by Maximar. The Series 2 had bodies made to a higher standard by Bristol with some interior changes. The SE version had more power and performance, and could also be specified with Stage II tuning. In 1969 The Honda Motor Company launched a motorcycle that many consider to be the world's first super bike. The Honda CB750 had the first mass-produced 4 cylinder inline engine, a single overhead camshaft with 4 carburettors, a 4 into 4 exhaust system and came with electric start and front disc brakes as standard.
