Mike and Kim have made a habit of traveling the world on adventure
motorcycles. From the wilds of Alaska to the tip of South America,
they've wandered along gravel and paved roads taking in all that
they see and making it their mission to learn about the people of
the world. On this adventure, they each rent BMW motorcycles in
Spain to wander discover Europe for themselves. Traveling through
Spain, France, Andorra, Switzerland and Italy, they travel over
tiny single lane roads, over mountains and alongside raging rivers
to visit tiny towns, meet the locals and take in some of the
world's most spectacular scenery. With no planned route, they are
free to wander and discover what different cultures are all about.
Along the way, through their adventures they learn about the people
of Europe and more than a little about themselves. Take the
handlebars, push the starter button, shift into first gear and
seize the the opportunity to wander with them. You don't know where
you'll end up on this ride. By the time you have finished this
journey, you will understand why the saying "Not All Wanderers Are
Lost" is true. Come and join Mike and Kim and ride to adventure.

Marc Marquez is the new motorcycle racing icon, the very young
rider who has changed the face of MotoGP by winning the world title
at just 21 years old. His story is told in this book by Marco
Masetti, the well-established motorcycle racing journalist, who
closely follows MotoGP as his publication's correspondent. Masetti
has literally seen Marquez grow from when he was a little boy with
racing in his blood to when he became the sport's sensation on two
wheels, a true heir to Valentino. As well as this world
championship-winning rider, whose career has been nothing short of
startling, away from the racetrack, the man and his own personality
emerge. And all of this is told amid exceptionally spectacular
pictures by outstanding photographers Gigi Soldano, Tino Martino
and Jaime Olivares.
Many beginning street motorcycle riders, as well as more
experienced riders than care to admit it, have issues, close-calls,
and crashes that they need not have. All it takes to avoid these
issues is training. During the author's years as a Motorcycle
Safety Foundation Rider Coach, he noticed that the same problems
kept showing up time and again. When he traced the problem back to
it's core, it all came down to the student's level of comfort. He
also noticed that humor, mixed with a bit of absurdity, was a good
way to break the student from their anxiety and redirect their
focus. "The Realm of the Cheetah" is a collection of hints to help
the motorcyclist deal with the issues of staying safe while riding,
as they reduce their anxiety level and increase their skill and
confidence.

When you're out riding, things happen. If you keep at it,
everything happens . Thus goes the simple wisdom of Foster Kinn in
Freedom's Rush: Tales from The Biker and The Beast. Join Kinn as he
rides his motorcycle throughout the western half of the continental
United States with an occasional detour into Canada and experience
with him all that can happen in a "day in the life" of a biker:
"Sometimes you're hungry, sometimes you eat too much. Sometimes
you're unbearably hot, sometimes painfully cold. You lose things
and get lost; you find things and find your way. You fall in love,
you find things to despise. You bleed and you heal; you get sick,
then you're invincible. The rains pelt, the snows blind, the winds
make you helpless. You ride through gorgeous scenery and through
desolate wastelands; all places are the way they're supposed to be
and they're all perfect. It's life in microcosm." In part a
celebration of the grandness of this wide, wonderful world, in part
a meditation on the meaning of freedom and our sacred right to
create, you will laugh with Kinn at all the wonderfully wacky
characters he meets on the road, and you will be dazzled by the
utter joy he finds in the simple act of riding a Harley. When you
read the last line, you will know what he means when he writes: As
long as Freedoms exist, we will ride; As long as we ride, Freedoms
will exist."
"Live to Ride "is pure adrenaline--a full-throttle exploration of
motorcycles that pushes to the limit, with heart-pounding accounts
of riding the greatest bikes of all time, all over the world.
"Live to ride, ride to live." For many motorcycle riders, these
words express life's guiding principle. Just take a look at the
patch emblazoned on the jackets of legions of riders. Whether
they're roaring down an empty highway on two wheels at an insane
speed, hopping on for a few mind-boggling loops of motocross,
joining in the "rolling thunder" of a veritable outlaw motorcycle
club, or just cruising on a Harley on a Sunday afternoon,
motorcyclists of all stripes share a common love of the freedom
that is riding.
Wayne Johnson, a lifelong motorcycle-lover and acclaimed writer,
takes us around the globe and onto the terrain where the most
extreme, thrilling forms of riding happen. Johnson shows where it
all began more than a hundred years ago when the first motorcycle
evolved from the bicycle and lands us on the track today with some
of the world's highest-paid athletes-- professional motorcycle road
racers. From there we go inside radically different competitions
like the vertigo-inspiring "Widowmaker Hillclimb" and the fastest
land racing on the planet at the Bonneville Salt Flats. Johnson
also offers an inside look at the legendarily secretive culture of
biker clubs with firsthand accounts of his own wild rides with an
outlaw club. In every one of these venues, you aren't just passing
through as an observer--you are on a bike, racing across new and
undiscovered country, the horizon your only destination.
If you have ever wondered what it's like to climb on a motorcycle
and feel its engine roar to life, or have actually done it and felt
the rush of flying off into the wild blue yonder, or have simply
been intrigued by this iconic part of American culture and history,
hold on tight for this irresistible, one-of-a-kind journey into
motorcycling.
This report examines the relationship between motorcycle helmet use
and motorcycle crash outcomes in terms of injury types, hospital
charges, and other variables employing data from the Crash Outcome
Data Evaluation System (CODES), a program facilitated by the
National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
This report describes the current efforts States are undertaking to
promote motorcycle safety, drawing on a survey received from State
Highway Safety Offices (SHSOs) and State motorcycle safety
administrators (SMSAs) in 45 States. The results presented in this
report provide a picture of recent accomplishments made by States
related to motorcycle safety. The data presented is based on
State-level, self-reported information.
This study aims to define the characteristics of lower-extremity
injuries among motorcyclists involved in traffic crashes. The
results of this study provide information on the cost of different
types of lower-extremity injuries and long-term disabilities that
night result from these types of injuries.
This purpose of this report is to: * Analyze fatal two-vehicle
motorcycle crashes for trends and crash characteristics using FARS
(Fatality Analysis Reporting System) data; and * Identify possible
factors relating to the drivers/operators in these crashes.
In a day when motorcycling is not only becoming an economical way
of transportation, riders are also discovering the joy of riding
for pleasure. This book is written for those that want to take off
and find some scenic rides in the North Georgia, Southeastern
Tennessee and Southwestern North Carolina areas. I have included
some motorcycling stories for your reading pleasure including a
comical take on my son's first long distance motorcycle trip. The
chapters have been kept to a minimal write-up description of the
rides, but yet they give you a feel for the ride area. Each chapter
also includes photos from the ride routes, as well as, a map and
turn by turn directions. I am a very strong believer that
businesses that truly believe in the biking community and welcome
us into their establishments with open arms deserve our support I
have included in the book a listing of businesses that have
believed in us and their information is included throughout the
book. I encourage you to lend your support to these businesses that
support us
