Slightly thinner than Liquin or other Alkyd gel mediums, it increases the transparency and flow of oil colour, allowing paint to be brushed out more smoothly. Alkyd flow medium reduces drying time.

LUKAS Painting Medium 5, also known as Painting Butter, is a heavy-bodied medium designed to mix with oil paints for impasto techniques. It creates thick, textured paint layers, accelerates drying, and helps prevent wrinkling. This non-yellowing medium ensures paint layers dry fully and become resistant to turpentine once cured.

Paintings stored for long periods in darkness may exhibit slight yellowing, especially in white areas, but exposure to light reverses this effect, preserving the artwork’s clarity.

Reduces the consistency of oil colour and slows down drying time. In its raw state, it gives colour a high gloss. Diluted 50/50 with turpentine or low-odour thinners, it creates an excellent medium for most types of painting.
