Pigment info: PBr7Series 24oz (118ml) squeeze bottleAkua Liquid Pigment was originally developed for monotype printmaking, but it can also used for other techniques such as Japanese woodcut and painting on paper. The Liquid Pigment contains no chalk, fillers dryers or polymers and the addition of honey give the colours a brilliant, vibrant appearance that dry with a luminous finish. It has a slow drying formula which will allow for an extended working time to create images on a monotype plate. It is thick in consistency which is perfect for both additive and reductive monotype techniques. It can be mixed into Akua Intaglio Inks or the Transparent Base to create new colours, it can also be printed on top or beneath Akua Intaglio inks for multi-plate overlays. All colours are lightfast. The Liquid Pigment is rolled directly onto the plate rather than transferring the ink from a separate slab, saving time and money. The pigment can easily be modified to adjust the sheen, thickness and transparency. It prints beautifully on dry paper as it stays wet on the plate, eliminating the need for prior soaking, blotting, flattening and drying. Where the paper will not stretch or shrink, this means that your print will be registered perfectly. The pigment cleans up easily with just water and a rag. As there are no suspension agents added, pigment can settle at the bottom of the bottle. There is a mixing ball enclosed in the squeeze bottle to allow you to easily mix the pigment.
The Aqua Wash range meets all the criteria for artist quality inks. It has a high pigmentation concentration identical to that of standard inks, and can be used in all intaglio printing techniques: such as engraving, dry-point, mezzotint, etching and aquatint, as well as monotype and relief printing techniques such as linocut and wood prints. Aqua Wash inks are genuine oily inks for use in all techniques whether etching or relief printing. They must not be confused with water and resin based inks such as gum Arabic or cellulose-tempera based inks that can be re-softened and are limited to monotype or relief techniques (linocut, wood engraving).
The water-based, high-quality aqua-Linoprint colours contain natural binders such as gum Arabic as well as organic/inorganic pigments. They are easy to apply due to optimum open-times and result in even, sharp prints with fast drying times (wipe-resistant after approx. 15 minutes).
A fine, 4000 grit multiform synthetic waterstone from Japan. On one edge the curved radius changes from 13mm to 3mm over its length. The opposite edge is tapered at an angle of about 40° making it ideal for sharpening the inside of V tools. The overall design allows the sharpening of a wide variety of tools from flat and wide to small narrow gouges and all V tools. The 1000 grit can be described as a medium stone and is used to sharpen to an almost perfect cutting edge. The 4000 grit or fine stone is used for the final hone and polish and will leave the tool ready for use. Before use the stones will need to be soaked in water for 10 to 15 minutes. After use the stones are best air dried and wrapped in a soft cloth for storage.
Lascaux Stop-out resist has been specially designed as part of the acrylic-resist etching system. This coloured resist is fluid and can be easily painted onto plates to create images, make corrections to plates or used for stopping-out. It can be drawn into with etching tools when dry. Lascaux Stop-out resist is water-soluble, ready to use, non-toxic and suitable for use on copper, brass, zinc, steel and aluminium. The resist is highly acid-resistant and durable on unbitten or previously etched plates (e.g. aquatint, deep open bite). It is compatible with the other Lascaux resists and photopolymer resists such as Photec. Lascaux Stop-out resist may also be used to create a variety of effects on collagraph plates.

These lithographic pencils are used to draw onto a lithographic stone alongside or in place of Lithographic Ink (Tusche. ) Lithographic pencils are available in several forms and degrees of hardness. The very soft pencils (no. 5 for example) produce rich, smoky black lines, the harder ones (containing less grease) produce the lighter and finer tones. The hardest grade pencils can be sharpened with a pencil sharpener or a polisher. Lithographic crayons are also used in etching.

Based on the ball bearing baren, a modern interpretation of a traditional Japanese tool but with added weight, it makes light work of burnishing a relief print. The freely rotating ball bearings create multiple pressure points evenly across the disc and the disc itself rotates around a central axis as you move across the paper. In addition, the 10mm ball bearings on the large Slama Press allow prints to be taken on heavier paper weights. The presses can take relief prints, drypoints, etchings and lithographs. This is the large Slama Press with 60 x 10mm ball bearings and a rotating disc that is easy to handle. It is highly effective at burnishing prints on heavier paper - thicker than 250gsm. The large Slama Press has a vertical handle which keeps your wrist in a neutral position to avoid repetitive strain. It also has the option to purchase additional 1kg weights to increase the overall pressure the press can exert. The large Slama Press can be further modified by removing the vertical handle leaving a short version that can be used in the traditional manner if you prefer to press down. Two options are available in the large press, the 6mm ball bearing press for smoother, lighter papers and the 10mm ball bearing press for papers over 250gsm. Slama Press requires a tiny space to store so is suitable for the home studio. It comes with a lovely wooden stand to store safely. Maintenance: Unscrew the lower bolt and take out the ball cage. Remove any impurities from the inside of the body of the press. After cleaning, screw the cage back on. The balls can be gently lubricated with oil by running the press on slightly oiled paper. Speedball Professional Relief Inks are lightfast and archival oil-based printmaking inks which can be washed up with just soap and water. These inks are designed for all types of relief printing, especially linocut and woodcut.This is an 8oz (236.5ml) tin of Quinacridone Red / Process Magenta (PV19, Speedball Lightfastness rating I). It is suitable for mixing with any of the Speedball Professional Relief Ink colours. To increase the transparency of this ink, add Speedball Professional Relief Transparent Base. The ink can be stiffened with talc or magnesium carbonate, and thinned with water. Because the ink can be thinned with water, it is preferable to print onto dry paper.
