Gamblin Relief Inks are formulated for all relief techniques including woodblock, linocut, monotype, and Solarplate. They contain the right amount of stiffness and tack to hold fine detail, yet spread evenly on the block or plate. These soft inks should be rolled in a thin layer over the block or plate, their high pigment load will ensure a transfer of intense colour onto the paper. The palette of ten colours is designed to give artists pure pigmented colours straight from the jar, along with a wide range of colour mixing capabilities.

In addition, Gamblin relief inks are designed to suit the specific requirements needed for monotype printing. Their unique softer body and high pigment load allow them to be rolled out in thinner applications with greater colour intensity, particularly as you print multiple layers of colour.

You can also mix Gamblin relief ink with Gamblin oils to create an even wider range of colour. When mixing oil paint with relief ink, it may be necessary to add plate oil and/or tack reducer as the oil paint and ink have different viscosities. Using plate oils, as opposed to linseed oils, will not adversely affect the paper fibres over time.

This non-permanent ink is available in a wide variety of colours and is designed to give maximum working time whilst still maintaining excellent transfer properties. Lawrence 1.2mm Copper Plate for etching and engraving is highly polished on one side. The polished surface is protected by a plastic film.

The plate is unbacked and will require the application of an acid-resistant stop-out if etching. As well as etching, copper is also suited to non-etch intaglio techniques such as drypoint, engraving, and mezzotint due to its inherent hardness.

Please allow 2mm tolerance on sizes described.

This traditional easy-cut art-print lino is specially made for carving. Available in a variety of sizes and also pre-mounted onto 18mm fibreboard blocks, giving extra rigidity allowing the user to achieve consistent, flat prints.

Akua Intaglio Ink was originally formulated for intaglio printmaking, however this ink can also be applied with a brayer for relief printmaking, monotype, and collagraphs; and it will print from any plastic, wood, linoleum or metal plate. It is a soy based ink which is made with high quality lightfast pigments. The inks have a thick consistency with minimal water content and contain no toxic driers - this means a longer working time. The ink cleans up easily with a dry rag followed by soap and water. Inexpensive liquid dish detergent can be used. Never use toxic solvents. Prints can be re-soaked immediately after printing if handled carefully. Once the print is dry, Akua Intaglio is permanent. Ink will never skin or harden in the jar or the ink slab, meaning minimal ink is wasted. Wiping the plate with Akua Intaglio is easier than wiping oil-based ink, meaning you need to spend less time cleaning up.

Speedball Professional Relief Inks are lightfast and archival oil-based printmaking inks which can be washed up with just soap and water. These inks are designed for all types of relief printing, especially linocut and woodcut.This is an 8oz (236.5ml) tin of Ultramarine Blue (PB29, Speedball Lightfastness rating I). It is suitable for mixing with any of the Speedball Professional Relief Ink colours. To increase the transparency of this ink, add Speedball Professional Relief Transparent Base. The ink can be stiffened with talc or magnesium carbonate, and thinned with water. Because the ink can be thinned with water, it is preferable to print onto dry paper.

Created from pigments ground and milled to the perfect consistency for block/relief printing, Speedball Watersoluble Block Printing Inks print in bold colour and dry to a rich, satin finish. They possess excellent tack ensuring even coverage and consistently spectacular results.

Great for printing with linoleum, wood or soft block surfaces, flexible printing plates or polyfoam. Available in 16 brilliant colours, 5 metallics and 6 fluorescents. All colours clean up easily with soap and water and are safe to use in the classroom. Lightfastness varies from fair to excellent, except for the fluorescents, which have poor lightfastness.

For inking: Place one lip of the bench hook over the edge of your desk or table and roll ink out in preparation for inking up a plate or block. For cutting: Place one lip of the bench hook over the edge of your desk or table and set a linoleum or wood block up against the other lip and use the lip as a stop when carving and cutting. Lino Bench hook has holes to switch the side bar over to accomodate left-hand usage.

The Lawrence Ball Bearing Baren has been created to bridge the gap between budget barens and the more expensive type while utilising the highly effective method of a printing face with ball bearings. Featuring 7mm stainless steel balls, the body itself is made from 3D-printed plastic with a domed handle to sit comfortably in your hand. The baren comes in two sizes 60mm or 90mm diameter, and can print at any size, although ideally the baren is most suited to smaller scale prints around A4 in size.

The Lawrence Ball Bearing Baren is a sturdy tool that will last you a long time. To look after it, you can rub some oil onto the ball bearings using a cloth or piece of leather from time to time. It can also be disassembled, and the 7mm stainless steel ball bearings can be replaced.

A biodegradable Vegetable Cleaning Agent for plates, rollers and tools. Protective gloves should during use. Soap and water can be used to finish to cleaning process. This product cannot be used as a dilutant for paints and inks.

Printmakers Gum Arabic Solution is ready mixed, darkish in colour and with a tiny amount of added preservatives. Specially formulated to be easier to see on plate and stone than that which you would mix from lump or powdered gum, and to keep fresh for longer. Gum arabic is used in various ways in lithography. For image processing and image etching and for plate and stone masking and protecting.

Well engineered portable presses from Italy with solid steel rollers and 3mm thick metal bed. Lifting up the top roller is for relief printing only, you will not be able to print anything but thinner intaglio plates on this press, optimally up to 1mm metal with a decent bevel on or thinner 0.8mm plates like our econimy zinc or transparent printing plates. The Fome presses work well for line etching, drypoint, monoprint and relief.It must be stressed that these small press will not print with the same pressure as a larger heavier studio press. If you have designed your prints with your plates, inks, paper using a large heavy press, you will not necessarily be able to reproduce them on these small presses. Wood engravers use Round Scorpers to create incisions on the surface of woodblocks. As woodblocks are inked with a roller, these incisions do not receive ink, and therefore show up white in the final print.This is a medium-fine Round Scorper (#53), used to draw thick, bold lines. Above a certain point, Round Scorpers have strait sides, which means that they will cut a line of a constant width if fully engaged in the wood. However, because the tip of the tool is shaped like a capital U, lines cut with it will have rounded ends.Scorpers are also useful when lightening areas of a print by stippling: repeatedly pecking at the woodblock with the tip of the tool, so that the surface bears a carpet of tiny incisions. Because of the U-shaped tip of this tool, it is perfect for creating round dots.This tool was made from high carbon tool steel in the United States by E.C. Lyons. It is supplied factory-sharp, but it has not been honed to a fine edge. Please note, engraving tools are known by different names in the U.K. and the United States. Round Scorpers are known as 'Round Gravers' in the U.S.A.

E.C. Lyons Roulettes are made in the US, and are recognised across the world as the finest roulettes available. Designed to be used in intaglio printmaking processes the rotating drum at the head of the tool will stipple the plate surface with dots or lines. These small impressions will hold ink and appear darker in the finished print. They can be used for mark making in their own right or for making corrections to areas of tone on the plate.

Oval shaped needle made of high carbon tool steel. and made to be resharpen. These etching needles are set in a wooden handle the steel shaft being oval in shape and chopped at an angle to give an oval profile. As you move the tool through the ground you can rotate the shaft and change the thickness of line. It can create lines that swell and contract.

Economical zinc plate for etching, unpolished, and unbacked. The plate is 0.8mm thick which makes it good for use with small tabletop presses. The zinc has a fine milled finish, ready to polish and degrease for use with traditional resists and grounds.

Great for use with B.I.G. etching grounds or with acrylic grounds. These etching plates are also suitable for non-etched intaglio techniques such as drypoint and engraving.

The back of the plate will require the application of an acid-resistant stop out.
