The water-based, high-quality aqua-Linoprint colours contain natural binders such as gum Arabic as well as organic/inorganic pigments. They are easy to apply due to optimum open-times and result in even, sharp prints with fast drying times (wipe-resistant after approx. 15 minutes).

All colours offer maximum light fastness (4 and 5 stars) and an excellent intensity (especially black). The formulation for the colours in tubes and jars is the same. This new-generation acid resist has been specially designed as part of the acrylic-resist etching system. The lines and marks which can be generated by using the Lascaux Hard resist are comparable to those offered by traditional hard grounds. It is painted on the plate in a thin even layer which when dry can be drawn into with etching tools. As the waxy resist allows free movement of the etching needle, delicate line drawings can be made. The resist may be used in its clear form or coloured after application. Broader open marks can also be created in the layer of resist. Lascaux Hard resist is water-soluble, ready to use, nontoxic and suitable for use on copper, brass, zinc, steel and aluminium. Plates should be correctly prepared, whether unbitten or previously etched (e.g. aquatint, deep open bite). The resist is highly acid resistant and durable. It is compatible with the other Lascaux resists and photopolymer resists such as Photec. Lascaux Hard resist may also be used to create a variety of effects on collagraph plates

Speedball Supergraphic Black Ink is the flagship colour in the Speedball Professional Relief Ink range. Lozenge Gravers are used by wood engravers and copper engravers. The face of the tool is lozenge-shaped and will cut a line deeper than it is wide.

This tool is used to prepare metal plates for mezzotints. By repeatedly working the tool over the surface of the plate in a rocking motion, the printmaker can create a smooth carpet of burrs, which will hold ink and show up as a dark area when the plate is printed. This rough surface can then be smoothed with a scraper or burnisher, which will lighten the print in those areas.EC Lyons rockers are known world wide as the finest mezzotint rockers available. Lyons rockers have handles of stained birch and a tool surface of high carbon tool steel. The density of teeth for a rocker is measured in LPI or 'tooth count', a measure of the number of lines per inch on the cutting face of the tool. This is a fine gauge rocker with a 1.5 inch blade and a tooth count of 100.Please take care when using this tool near the edge of your plates, as unless you have bevelled the edge of the plate it is possible that the tool may slip off or be damaged by the sharp edge.

Very dark and opaque finish. For use with etching plates, this varnish is appropriate for backing the plate as well as stopping out (i. e concealing) areas of the plate where the etching process is not required.

When metal plates are engraved for intaglio printmaking, small ridges of cut-away metal called 'burrs' will be left either side of each linear incision. This scraper has a triangular blade, and is designed to be used during intaglio printmaking processes, to scrape away burrs thrown up during the engraving process without damaging the plate. Its sharp face can also be used to scrape and lower the plate surface.It has a wooden handle, and is made of high carbon steel.

This double-ended scribe can be used in etching or drypoint processes. It has a cork handle for comfort during use.If this tool is used to add detail or tone directly to the metal plate (a technique known as 'drypoint'), it will inscribe a line with a slight burr, which will print a blurred, indistinct line. This effect can be controlled by manipulating the angle at which the point meets the plate.This tool is made of high-carbon steel, and is designed to be resharpened periodically.

E.C. Lyons Roulettes are designed to be used in intaglio printmaking processes. When the rotating drum at the head of the tool is pushed over the plate, it stipples the surface with dots or lines. These small impressions will hold ink and appear darker in the finished print.The density of lines or dots an engraving roulette will produce is expressed in its DPI rating. A higher DPI indicates the lines or dots made by a roulette as it passes over the face of the plate are closer together. This is a fine gauge line roulette of 100 DPI.
