One hot July day, on a return trip home from New Orleans, Trish
Dunaway received a call from Mercer University police: "Call your
mother." As the minutes raced by, she learned the tragic news: her
ninety-three-year-old mother had been instantly killed in a traffic
accident.
Her mother's story is a remarkable one: growing up in the 1920s
in the Charleston, South Carolina Orphan House, losing her husband
to cancer as a young married woman, and growing into a much-loved
and honored prayer warrior.
Trish gave herself a year to journal her grief. Through prayer,
the ministry of the saints, journaling and poetry, Scripture, and
memories of her Low Country heritage, she learned to choose God's
comfort He offered through a walk into His mercy and grace.
She shares her journey during the year following her mother's
death as she learns how God teaches us to listen for His comfort in
the face of despair.
Ten years ago, I was diagnosed as having chronic depression. I was
living and walking in darkness and it had consumed my entire being.
I was in a relationship that was going no where, being used and
emotionally damaged. I had one foot in the world, one foot in the
church and no relationship with God. I was at the end of my rope
and could not take life any longer. One night, I decided I was
going to take my life. I was hurting and the pain was too much to
bear. I sat on the floor, crying, thinking about how to end it all.
I clearly heard Satan giving me ways to do it, until I opened my
mouth and called on the name of the Lord, who interrupted Satan's
plan to kill me that night. I asked the Lord to take the hurt and
pain away. And He did it, immediately I remember getting up without
the weight that had consumed me and I decided from that day forward
that I would serve the Lord. My Damascus culminates this life
changing experience and journey of letting go of the world and
hanging on to God. "At one time you surrendered yourselves entirely
as slaves to impurity and wickedness for wicked purposes. In the
same way you must now surrender yourselves entirely as slaves of
righteousness for holy purposes." - Romans 6:19 To receive the Lord
Jesus Christ as your Personal Savior, simply pray: Dear Lord Jesus,
I know that I am sinful and I need Your forgiveness. I believe that
You died to pay the penalty for my sin. I want to turn from my sin
nature and follow You instead. I invite You to come into my heart
and life. In Jesus' name, Amen.
First, I want to give thanks to God; for all things are possible
through Christ who strengthens me. Again, without spiritual
inspiration and gaining strength through him to withstand many
storms there would be no contents for either book. The first book,
"My Inner Soul," exhibited years of heartaches and feelings of
desertion. I chose "The Open Door" as this title because it, not
only, closed that door but also provided me with an open mind to
see how others view life through their eyes.
Are you stressed out and looking for something? You probably are in
this everyday life. You have the book you need in your hands now.
Want to see how to get from one point in you life to a much better
place and be Happy? It can be done and I can show you how I did it
while thinking there was no where to go but further down. I felt
like I was drowning in my own pity party tears, but eventually got
tired of not getting what I had been promised in this life and that
is happiness. You can find happiness too if you start looking in
the right place.
This book informs the readers about the life of a Southeastern
Kentuckian and his struggles with 17 years of religious teachings
coupled with, once into real world employment, corruption in the
government of the United States of America and treasonous acts by
members of the executive and legislative branches of the federal
government.
The author will try to explain and encourage those that are
seeking to marry that marriage is a holy estate instituted by God.
Marriage was ordained for the life-long companionship, help and
comfort which husbands and wives ought to have for each other. The
author's deepest focus points are: Life-long Marriage and Finding
the Right Mate.
Many married couples do not keep the marriage vows they made.
Because of that, I recommend marital counseling before marriage.
The author does not focus too much on divorce because of his
disbelief in divorce. It was Moses that executed the bill of
divorce. He did it to protect the women because husbands would
divorce their wives for anything just to marry another woman.
Women have a moral personality and are not a thing that men may
hand over to another, and then take her back again at his
pleasure.
The author believes there is not law instituting or commanding
divorce. Most people use Matthew 19:9, where Jesus was only
explaining what Moses meant. The marriage that God wants is a
marriage of a life-long commitment; a forever happy home

Jill Gebhart Campbell's passion for poetry, writing, and drawing
prompted her to write this book, utilizing these creative genres,
in order to portray her bipolar illness in a more personal way. It
is also a reflection of how the devastating effects of bipolar
disorder shaped her life. The author's story is about a young
woman's odyssey of triumph and sorrow and her journey to find
herself again. Before her diagnosis, she was a beautiful,
compassionate young woman who excelled in both athletics and
academics. After her diagnosis she gained more than 120 pounds-due
to health issues, sick children, psychiatric hospitalizations, and
unsuitable medications. She became depressed, self-consumed, and
bitter. The debilitating depression and hauntingly real
hallucinations forever impacted the way she sees life and how life
sees her. Her faith in God proved to be her ultimate anchor through
her heart-wrenching circumstances. After admission to solitary
confinement, due to hallucinations, she experienced an even more
profound depression. "The white walls, barred windows, cold cement
floors, and white bedding only exacerbated my feelings of isolation
and left me swirling downward in an even deeper depression."
However, the Lord's unconditional love has allowed her to walk on
the bright side once again. She overcame all the odds to become the
woman she longed to be. She has attained the serenity one reaches
when they've been to the very end, beyond hope, yet made it back.
We have many words that can describe our seasons of life. These
words can lead to God's promises of love, mercy, and compassion.
The Father wants to meet with you, refresh you, and encourage
you...one word at a time. Jenny invites you to remember to live
each day in the Light of God's faithfulness as she equips you with
scriptures to remind you that, In Christ, every moment is a God
moment. This devotional book is designed to be a study tool
adaptable for group study, Sunday School lessons, devotions, or
personal quiet times with the Lord. JENNY PFISTER is a powerful
communicator, Bible teacher, and speaker whom God has anointed and
used in a mighty way to touch the lives of countless women and men
who are seeking the Lord. Gifted and lead by the Holy Spirit, Jenny
thrives on teaching the Word of God through weekly
interdenominational women's Bible studies and a weekly TV series
called One Brushstroke at a Time. She also leads and teaches at
women's retreats and conferences, offers spiritual direction and
counsel to many, and regularly preaches and leads worship services
at her home church, Breath of God Worship Ministry in Buckhannon,
West Virginia. A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Jenny felt
overwhelming love for Jesus at an early age, and sensed God calling
her to her first teaching ministry at the age of 22 at The
Whitehouse Fellowship, a singles ministry at Timonium Presbyterian
Church. At the same time, while teaching music at a private Jewish
school in Owings Mills, Maryland, Jenny fell in love with the Old
Testament. Layer upon layer, it exploded with life and relevance
and became the canvas on which the Lord would paint a perfect
picture of unity, truth, and fulfillment of the Old and New
Testaments. The Lord was gradually birthing in Jenny the ministry
that she would later establish, Brushstroke Ministries. After
moving to West Virginia to serve in the Southern Baptist Convention
as the state's keyboard and piano specialist, Jenny began to
conduct women's Bible studies in homes and churches. In February
2001, she stepped out in faith and founded Brushstroke Ministries,
a three-fold ministry of worship, prayer, and study of the Word of
God for women of all denominations. Her fervent passion for the
Word, along with her spiritual gifting and keen ear for the Lord's
direction, has been Jenny's motivation for writing this series of
devotional books. She paints a picture with her words, one
brushstroke at a time, capturing the beauty of the Lord and His
unfailing love for us. Those associated with this blessed ministry
pray that as you read these devotionals, you will be touched by His
Peace and find comfort in His Presence. To Him be all the glory
A diaconal minister, author, and creative artist, Roela Victoria
Rivera became legally blind in 2004, two years after she had severe
illness that left her in a coma for three days and led her to a
near-death experience (NDE) which allowed her to see the glory and
beauty of heaven. While undergoing eight eye surgeries over a
period of eight years, she felt her faith and trust fading away for
awhile. However, her deep faith in GOD and fervent prayers have
strengthened her belief that GOD has never left her side and is
leading her each day with new meaningful plan and purpose for her
life. GOD has blessed Roela to see glimpses of heave at three
points in her life: when she was ten years old, at age eighteen,
and in mid-life which guided her with wisdom and strength, courage
and creative power to write this inspirational book with divine
guidance from GOD, holy light from Jesus, and inspiration from the
Holy Spirit. She will help you see glimpses of heave in many
different ways in everyday life. She also wishes to share her
creative artworks and the great Lessons of Life she learned from
her heavenly visions and from the Scripture. She continues her
ministry for GOD's glory through her GraceNotes Creative Ministry
and inspirational items she designs to share GOD's Words of love
and grace.
Roela's physical and spiritual journey is an inspiration to
everyone who reads about it in this book. We hope you find it
so.
"A Quest For Immortality" is an intriguing tale of an estranged
family reuniting and healing. It is a journey of discovery, love
and forgiveness. The main character has known only regret and
loneliness for many years. He, slowly, changes and basks in the
power of forgiveness, kindness, and love from the people he thought
despised him. This story spans several generations, family
traditions and beliefs. Charkey is the narrator of memorable events
and lessons. In the midst of the main story line there is a
touching love story. A love lost through death is kept alive by the
passion and power of being a soul mate. This novel affords its
reader the observation of two young boys being transformed into
men. A gruff old man that they had just met, turns out to be the
perfect mentor. The reader is provided the opportunity of seeing
things through their innocence. Reading "A Quest for Immortality,"
each individual can identify with one or more of the issues. It is
an experience that brings tears, smiles and laughs.
