This book portrays the life of the great King David from a first
person viewpoint. Thus it enables the reader to see the life and
times of King David as though he were on the scene. It paints a
verbal portrait of King David in a "warts and all" way, that is, it
tells of his strengths and weaknesses. Some of the high points in
his life, such as slaying the giant Goliath, his sin of adultery
with the beautiful Bathsheba, fleeing from the army of his
rebellious son Absalom, are vividly portrayed from his own
viewpoint. This book is designed to enable the reader to understand
how King David became known as a "man after God's own heart."
From 1942 until 2008 Herbert Palfrey has written poetry in praise
of Jesus; it is his hope that purchasers of his book will enjoy,
take comfort and feel as happy reading them, as he has in writing
them.
Have you ever craved for a deep personal relationship with God? Do
you question your faith in the Divine Spirit to work in your daily
life? This book takes you on a remarkable modern day journey of
faith with a couple in their quest for a deeper relationship with
God. Brenda and Franklin CampbellJones share how their spirit was
strengthened by following God's guidance on a journey across the
country. Through dreams, signs, messages, and "coincidences," they
come to terms with the forces of doubt, anxiety, and confusion.
They learn to lean on the Divine Presence of the Holy Spirit.
This book will lower your excitement about religion but will
intensify your pursuit to establish the kingdom here on earth. I
never cease to be amazed at how so many who say they are followers
of Jesus Christ can believe that Jesus has stopped forgiving,
healing, and calling leaders into His vineyards when there is so
much to do. This book is here to let everyone know that He (Jesus)
has not returned yet, but His power still generates in those who
have accepted Him as their Lord and savior and are willing to hold
on to the faith. Leadership style does not mean that the agenda is
different. Many leaders today are uncomfortable with the presence
of another approach to ministry. It calls for us to observe that
all the apostles had different styles in approaching situations and
difficulties; yet, the ministry of Jesus was their priority alone.
Leadership, just as everyone else, will have to make adjustments as
long as leading is on the agenda and in process.

Around 1900 the small Ethiopian community in Jerusalem found itself
in a desperate struggle with the Copts over the Dayr al-Sultan
monastery located on the roof of the Holy Sepulchre. Based on a
profoundly researched, impassioned and multifaceted exploration of
a forgotten manuscript, this book abandons the standard majority
discourse and approaches the history of Jerusalem through the lens
of a community typically considered marginal. It illuminates the
political, religious and diplomatic affairs that exercised the
city, and guides the reader on a fascinating journey from the
Ethiopian highlands to the Holy Sepulchre, passing through the
Ottoman palaces in Istanbul. Have a look inside the book
Jewish thought is, in many ways, a paradox. Is it theology or is it
philosophy? Does it use universal methods to articulate Judaism's
particularity or does it justify Judaism's particularity with
appeals to illuminating the universal? These two sets of claims are
difficult if not impossible to reconcile, and their tension
reverberates throughout the length and breadth of Jewish
philosophical writing, from Saadya Gaon in the ninth century to
Emmanuel Levinas in the twentieth. Rather than assume, as most
scholars of Jewish philosophy do, that the terms "philosophy" and
"Judaism" simply belong together, Hughes explores the juxtaposition
and the creative tension that ensues from their cohabitation,
examining adroitly the historical, cultural, intellectual, and
religious filiations between Judaism and philosophy. Breaking with
received opinion, this book seeks to challenge the exclusionary,
particularist, and essentialist nature that is inherent to the
practice of something problematically referred to as "Jewish
philosophy." Hughes begins with the premise that Jewish philosophy
is impossible and begins the process of offering a sophisticated
and constructive rethinking of the discipline that avoids the
traditional extremes of universalism and particularism.
Shameless Verses takes you on a journey through chapters of the
author's life from adolescence to womanhood. This book reveals some
of Akira's deepest issues, prayers and praises. Exposed in this
poetic collection are the author's real life experiences and
observations on real life issues, as she presents many of her most
intimate thoughts...unashamed!
"I really believe we can find the answers to the questions and
problems of life in God's word, the Bible, and I tried to convey
that to my students over the years. Studying the Bible is
spiritually enlightening and personally empowering to make you a
better parent, child, friend and witness for Christ. Studying the
bible can also be fun. By using the outline approach, you can
organize your thoughts, and increase your understanding of the
truths and principals from the scriptures. Read this book for some
examples of outlining, then choose a scripture and make your own
outlines."
Every child of God encounters spiritual warfare on many fronts. To
help us to win our battles, the Lord of Hosts gave us the Holy
Spirit as our Helper against the forces of hell. Relationship with
Him is imperative as He brings with Him all that we will need to
become more than conquerors. Every believer needs to manifest the
character of Christ in waging war against the enemy. Every believer
has a call of God, is anointed and graced, and must be able to
function effectively in the Kingdom of God. Every believer must
become conscious of the spiritual strategy to wage war against the
enemy and be victorious. Every believer must become fully equipped
to continue to establish God's Kingdom purpose on the earth. Every
believer must discover connection with the Master's vision of the
results expected. The Holy Spirit endows us with the capacity for
winning every battle. The Holy Spirit equips us with the ability to
wage successful warfare. The Holy Spirit encourages us with the
strategy of a Kingdom warrior. The Holy Spirit enlightens us with
the mentality derived from the wisdom of God. The Holy Spirit
enables us with authority as we connect with the Master's vision.
The picture that God has of every Kingdom Warrior must become
realized in our individual lives. The church must aligned itself
with the Vision that God has of it, and not seek to compromise
God's vision for His church. We can be all that God said we will
be, do all that He raised us up to do, and have all that He has
promised us.
Upon moving to Minnesota and living next to an Amish community, I
was intrigued to learn about Amish life. That moment came, when I
was working in my garden one Sunday. A brother and sister of the
nearby Amish family decided to come over and talk to me while they
went for a walk. I was flattered to get to know some of the family.
My husband came out to greet them as well. I knew in my heart that
I was going to be a part of this moving, beautiful story of which
this was only the beginning. I, being a patient soul, was prepared
to get to know, learn, offer help, and advise, if they asked of me,
or when I thought they needed to know something. I only wanted to
help them, especially a young Amish woman, succeed in their way of
life. All human emotions from sad, happy, indifferent, and outright
hilarious, at times, are evident. There is an element of suspense
in the story. Shortly after, it was time to end and put down my
pen.
