What would you do if you discovered that the food you have been told is good for you is actually the cause of your ill health …?

In December 2010, Professor Tim Noakes was introduced to a way of eating that was contrary to everything he had been taught and was accepted as conventional nutrition ‘wisdom’. Having observed the benefits of the low-carb, high-fat (LCHF) lifestyle first-hand, and after thorough and intensive research, Noakes enthusiastically revealed his findings to the South African public in 2012. The backlash from his colleagues in the medical establishment was as swift as it was brutal, and culminated in a misconduct inquiry launched by the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA). The subsequent hearing lasted well over a year, but Noakes ultimately triumphed, being found not guilty of unprofessional conduct in April 2017.

In Lore of Nutrition, he explains the science behind the LCHF/Banting diet, and why he champions this lifestyle despite the constant persecution and efforts to silence him. He also discusses at length what he has come to see as a medical and scientific code of silence that discourages anyone in the profession from speaking out against the current dietary guidelines. Experienced journalist Marika Sboros provides the full backstory to the HPCSA hearing, which reads like something out of a spy novel.

Written in an accessible style, Lore of Nutrition is informative, highly controversial and an eye-opener for anyone who cares about their health.

Lore of Nutrition by Tim Noakes

Sat, 18 Aug 2018 | Review by: Ronel Jackson

Since 5 May 2018 I am struggeling to get this book from Loot.co.za. Paid the amount of R267 in Absa account Ref 14408210 0030 001727052, on 5 July 2018. I was informed to pay another amount of R25 for delivery, Paid the amount at the Absa branch here in Nigel on 19 July 2018. The Vodacom signal is slow and then get speed. whenever it feels like it. My friend who wants the book is waiting since 5 May 2018 and he is not getting younger. He over 70 years!!!! My money was paid back in the Loot account. How on earth am I going to get book from your website that is called Loot.co.za?? This is the last straw. Pay back my R267 and R25 back in my bank account. I will buy this book at another book shop or online book shop. Go to my e-mail and you will find my bank details on there. No I will not spoil other peoples view on my side of the story. I still do and belief in Prof. Tim Noake's books. Always did and shall for ever. Nothing fall short about his research and the prof knows what he is talking about and he believe in his own statements and will never try to side step the truth about what he believes in. So do I. No doubt in my mind is this book as wonderful set out, as all other Tim Noake's books, for any age, does not matter who you are. If Loot.co.za do not agree with my commend on this specific topic, it is fine. I am a big lady, I can handle it. This is a challenging conventional dietary belief. There must be a solution to this problem. Thank you on behalf of myself and my friend Gavin O'Reily. Ronel Jackson
