Funnier, darker and more daring, the second season of this acclaimed Showtime series reaches a higher ground. Golden Globe winner Mary-Louise Parker stars as Nancy Botwin, the suburban mom who had to learn how to deal - pot, that is - after the death of her husband. Now, her business is a hit. But keeping up with the neighbours in this suburban utopia isn't easy. She's joined up with a few of her closest friends, and together they're facing life's highs and lows - because even in paradise, nobody's perfect. So get ready to get hooked on Weeds, a truly addictive comedy - the highest grade TV on offer!
Oscar-nominated comedy about an oddball New York family of former child geniuses from writer-director Wes Anderson. Before their marriage floundered, Royal Tenenbaum (Gene Hackman) and his wife Etheline (Angelica Huston) succeeded in raising three prodigies: business supremo Chas (Ben Stiller), prize-winning playwright Margot (Gwyneth Paltrow) and tennis champion Richie (Luke Wilson). Now, after years of separation, the children grown-up and the memory of their prodigy faded, Royal returns to his family and tries to make amends. However, with Royal's history of lies and betrayal, his offspring - who all now have problems of their own - are going to have trouble welcoming him back.
Male Nurse Greg Focker is poised to propose to his girlfriend Pam during a weekend stay at her parents' home. But here's the catch, he needs to ask her father first. Alas, the fur flies as Jack Byrnes, Pam's cat-crazy ex-CIA father takes an immediate dislike to her less-than-truthful beau. Greg's quest for approval gets seriously sidetracked as Murphy's Law takes over and a hilarious string of mishaps turns him into a master of disaster and a total pariah in the eyes of the entire family... all except for his shell-shocked girlfriend, who can't believe she still loves her one-man wrecking crew.
Julie Delpy writes, directs and stars in this romantic comedy, a sequel to her 2007 film '2 Days in Paris'. A few years have passed since the events of the last film and Marion (Delpy) has split with Jack. However, they share custody of their toddler son and Marion is now living in New York City with Mingus (Chris Rock), a radio show host with a young daughter of his own. The couple's domestic bliss is disrupted by the arrival of Marion's eccentric father, Jeannot (Albert Delpy), and tough cookie sister Rose (Alexia Landeau), along with an unexpected addition to the party, Rose's sometime-boyfriend (and Marion's ex), Manu (Alexandre Nahon), who have all come to town for Marion's debut photography exhibition opening, where she is planning to sell her soul to the highest bidder as a conceptual art piece.
DJ Adrian Cronauer (an Oscar-nominated Robin Williams) causes uproar when he arrives in war-torn 1965 Saigon to take over the early morning radio show. His irreverent humour soon offends the top brass, in the form of Lt. Steven Hauk (Bruno Kirby), but Cronauer becomes a hit with the GIs. Meanwhile, Cronauer shows a more sober side to his character in his romance with Trinh, a local Vietnamese woman (Chintara Sukapatana).
Jason Bateman directs and stars in this comedy which follows Guy Trilby (Bateman), a 40-year-old school dropout who, after finding a loophole, enters The Golden Quill children's spelling bee and befriends Chaitanya (Rohan Chand), one of his fellow competitors. Due to never having graduated beyond the eighth grade, Guy is able to enter himself into the competition - much to the chagrin of contest officials and the parents of competing children. Meanwhile, Jenny Widgeon (Kathryn Hahn), a local news reporter, attempts to find out Guy's real motivations for entering.

Will their platonic relationship turn into something more? Rob Reiner's hugely successful romantic comedy features Meg Ryan infamously faking an orgasm in a Manhattan deli.
After taking home the 2007 Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series, 30 ROCK returned for its sophomore season with an even sharper satirical tool set, skewering everything from reality television (hello, MILF ISLAND) to the suit & tie shenanigans of its own network. Set behind the scenes at THE GIRLIE SHOW, a fictional sketch comedy series, 30 ROCK follows show runner Liz Lemon (Tina Fey) as she contends with her program's flighty stars, Tracy Jordan (Tracy Morgan) and Jenna Maroney (Jane Krakowski), and runs interference between network exec Jack Donaghy (Alec Baldwin) and her own unruly writing staff. This season starts off as TGS returns from summer hiatus, and gets straight to the hilarious disasters; over the course of 15 episodes, Liz tries (and fails) to buy a condo, Jack has a scandalous love affair with a liberal, and Kenneth (Jack McBrayer), the excitable page, accidentally throws an alcohol-soaked rager. This collection contains every moment from the delightfully absurd and highly quotable 2007-2008 season, featuring guest appearances from Jerry Seinfeld, Edie Falco, and David Schwimmer.

In 'Paddy McGuinness Live', he turns his hand to stand-up comedy. Join the Bolton man for some very definitely adult orientated gags.
Dave Allen was an alternative comedian before the phrase existed, an innovator who set the agenda for comedy - and comedians - for more than 30 years. Here is his personal choice of sketches, gags and monologues that wickedly target the foibles of our age. With suit, a stool and a glass of something he was in his element, reflecting laconically on such diverse subjects as sex, the Irish and God, traffic, smoking, the Bible, life, and death. It's a vintage display from a unique raconteur, a man who observed our guilt, weaknesses and doubts and made us laugh at them and at ourselves.
A funny thing happens to talk show host Jerry Langford (Lewis) on his way to the studio... kidnapped by stand-up comedian Rupert Pupkin (DeNiro) and his wacky sidekick (Bernhard), Langford is forced to give Pupkin a shot at the big time by allowing the struggling comic to perform his routine on Langford's show. What unfolds is an incredibly funny and poignant story about the darker side of comedy.
The planet hurtles towards nuclear obliteration because the major powers are either warmongering or in the hands of lunatics (Peter Cook plays the quite insane British Prime Minister). A kidnap attempt on one of the Royal family pushes fingers closer to the red buttons, and the inept, over zealous SAS rescue attempt only helps the cause of the oncoming apocalypse. |
