Dairy production systems of 165 sample farms were examined to assess socio-economic status of producers, farm management practices and production constraints. Milk quality tests on milk of high grade Holstein type cows were also conducted to determine fat %, TS, SNF content of milk and prevalence of mastitis. The average family size was 6.4 persons per HH and 26.8 % of HHHs were females. The mean cattle herd size was 8.01 with the predominant breed being high-grade cattle. Among the three breeds Holestein type showed best reproductive and produvtive performance while the local ones performed least. Crossbred had respective performance values that lied between the two breeds. Parity and lactation stage significantly affected fat but not TS and SNF content of milk. Prevalence of mastitis differed significantly by parity and lactation stage It was thus, found out that there is a favorable environment for growth of the dairy sector that mainly comprised small producers and High-grade dairy type animals. The sector also contributes great roles in increasing household income of producers and the well being of city dwellers through supplying milk and milk products.

The author believes all children know everything worth knowing from birth. We adults only need to continue talking to them to keep the flame of their knowledge alive. She believes in them as she does in gods; they are teaching us, loving us, believing in us, forgiving us and suffering for us. Sky stories grew from her desire to talk to an imaginary child about as many values and aspects of life as possible in a book. Sky Stories is a collection of six stories, which although having no obvious connection do together make up a whole. The trees received the stories from sky and at night told them to the birds. Dress and Roses - The successful dress with printed roses faces her first real challenge - real roses. Blue Cats New Year - The robin is caught by the blue cat and makes promises to stay alive. Now is the time to keep promises. Shopkeeper's Son - The lazy shopkeeper's son sleeps all the time. One kind old woman teaches him a tough lesson. The Angel of Death - The last wish before death does it make any sense? The Swan from Snake Notch - If you become a snake from a swan, should you inform everyone? Or do they know anyway? The Duck and the Carrot - In a courtyard lived a duck and a carrot. Nothing else lived there; is there any possible friendship between them? Olivia Orange was born of Tartar parents in Kazakhstan and was educated at a conservatoire school for gifted children where she specialised in piano. She worked there for film studios and TV as a scriptwriter. Currently she is living in England, married to an Englishman, and works as a piano teacher.
