If you ever wanted to walk through the Gospels with a friend and discuss how this pertains to your life, here is the perfect opportunity. Come read about Jesus through the lenses of the twenty-first century and relate to life experiences along the way. If you don't know much about the Bible and don't want to ask, this is the perfect venue for you. There will be some "ah ha" moments, some "Kleenex" moments, and some funny moments, all drawn within the boundaries of Christian attitudes. You will find some chapters that are purely personal and some that are almost commentary in character, all pointing to themes of nondenominational doctrine to interest you, inform you, entertain you, and encourage you to go further on your own path. Dear Readers, "A good look into a woman's life with its ups and downs, and always followed by Scripture that gives each experience a higher meaning. All women can relate with different parts of Jody's memoirs, and combined with insightful Scriptures, we get a comforting reminder of how we are provided for by God in Jesus' name." --Priscilla Marsh, Laguna Beach, California Dear Readers, "I have just begun reading the manuscript for The Path, and what a blessing it is I have already cried, smiled, nodded, and laughed. Thank you, Jody, for 25 years of friendship " --Shirley Newis, Calgary, Alberta

Ten Years inside Shelton Prison is a moving picture that captures what happens inside a prison. Shocking evil and joyful healings live together side by side where the Gospel goes successfully. A guard being stabbed to death with a ballpoint pen during a chapel service stands next to tears of joy running down the face of a Russian mafia member when he was born again. Robert walked into Shelton prison for the first time. As he walked past fences that were covered with razor wire blindingly reflecting the harsh sun, he was afraid. Iron gates slammed behind him. Guards were unaware of his trembling hands. Men in orange suits began to watch him. There was no place to run. This was the beginning of ten years in Shelton prison, where the author served the Lord. There were great blessings: fearful faces accepted the Lord Jesus and became new creatures in Christ. There were dangerous moments: an inmate cut Robert, forcing him to go through AIDS testing. Yet he also had a prisoner's scarred head laid on his shoulder, who after accepting Jesus smiled at him and said, "I needed that." The controlling purpose of Ten Years is to present the four biblical steps to freedom from incarceration, whether inside a prison or addicted outside of a prison. The four parts of this graphic book are: imprisoned, instruction, health, and freedom. The book concludes with two appendices on important subjects: "Learning How to Resist the Devil" and a famous therapy for treating addictions, "Family of Origin Therapy." After the appendices, thirty-three itemized summaries or compendia are given with the reference pages included. Also, there are referenced sites for ten of Robert's poems that are included in this prison journey log.
That the eyes of our understanding be enlightened. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against Principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this word, against Spiritual Wickedness in high places. (Ephesians 6:12). But God sent his son that our eyes maybe opened. That we may know for sure there is a heaven waiting for us, that you may know what a treasure you are to him. That you may know how great his powers are to change your life, and cause you to walk in his divine strength everyday.
The darkest of nights and the fiercest storms only come to make us stronger. Often times the gravity of our trials attempt to eclipse our faith and shake the foundations of our greatest belief. The trauma of tragedy can be devastating but as with every storm, if our anchor holds in Christ, the tomb stone will turn out to be a stepping stone to many victories. Some of the highlights in this life changing book are: Surviving the Storm Healing for the hurting Getting past the past A fresh start The pain produces power The victorious life We sometimes question the ways and acts of God because of the limitations of our finite minds. However, we are assured that the 'all-powerful' God is able to works all things together for our good. For everyone who has ever been or is experiencing a stormy season, the message of encouragement and hope in this book will keep you steady and strong till the storm calms.
Possibly there is nothing more conducive to thoughts of the Eternal, than having one's face slammed into red, wet muck, with explosions so close your body arcs and bounces off the ground, hot shards burn in your flesh, and concussions are bright flashes of dirty fire beating a tattoo on the light receptors in the backs of your eyes. Your head aches; throbbing from visual shock waves. Time has come to an end; there is no right, no wrong, only whatever follows a life that is now over. The dark reaper is here. What's it going to be like on the other side? Is there an "other side"? The old timers use the maxim, "There are no atheists in a fox-hole." Possibly so; I can only give my own experience, and I never had the opportunity to be in one. Combat aviators crash and sometimes burn instead. But close calls almost always give rise to interminable questions; especially when the survived experience is seared into the human psyche. For some, satisfactory answers never seem to come. For myself,
may I pro-offer both scorching experience, and incredible
life-lessons learned? Then, should you ever fall into similar
adventure; you man go into it better prepared than I was.
Author Harvey Marshall gleaned great thoughts, ideas, and inspiration while reading the Bible, and he wanted to share what he found with others. At first, he texted the encouraging words he learned by cell phone. Then, he sent them via e-mail, and finally he created a website with which to share the good news. In "Promises to Confess to," Marshall shares these lessons, gleaned from Scripture readings, and discusses the meanings behind the encouraging words and the promises from God that are a part of the Bible's message. He follows each short inspiration with a confession or prayer that relates to the discussion. "Promises to Confess to" provides a lens through which to look at God and to appreciate the many colors that his glory has allowed to fall upon the earth.
This book serves as a testimonial of the circumstances that surrounded the life of a family where the mother was the breadwinner, showing how she came to grow to support and educate their children. It narrates the process of the disease she had suffered and the Christian fundamentals that supported her self-surrender to God, from whom she received strength and joy in spite of her painful predicament. The author explains, in simple terms, the revelations she had received, and the manner she found Christ Jesus, source of her comfort and answer to her questions, despair, and fear. This book leads us to reflect, express love towards life, and show gratitude towards God. It offers help and spiritual guidance, as it conveys the importance and validity of love, faith, and eternal hope, revealing the path that leads to salvation.
