The Sennelier oil pastel is a product that makes use of the components used in all Sennelier colours: top quality pigments, an extremely pure synthetic binding medium and mineral wax. The pigments are ground with an inert, non-siccative binding medium that does not oxidise and that has no effect upon either film stability or surface. This base is then mixed with wax (neutral pH). The balance of this mix provides Sennelier oil pastels with a unique unctuousness and a creamy texture that allows for a great deal of freedom in pictorial expression.
The Sennelier oil pastels possess an extraordinarily high pigment content, thus providing them with a high colouring and covering potential, excellent brightness and a high degree of light stability (with the exception of metallic and fluorescent shades).
The remarkable properties of these components, along with their precise dosage, provide Sennelier oil pastels with unique properties, making the brand a world-recognised reference.
Daler-Rowney Perfix Colourless Fixative is an excellent quality
fixative spray that fixes charcoal and pastels. It sprays evenly with a
minimal effect on tonal values and is easy to use. Lay your drawing
flat and holding the can about 30cm away, spray back and forth across
the drawing ensuring even coverage over the surface.
It dries quickly to prevent smudging and, once dry, it's completely
colourless so you can continue working on top of it.
Pitt artists' pastel pencils, with their oil-free pastel leads, are
used by artists not only as the perfect complement to pastel
crayons for elaborating fine details, but also on their own. Many
artists who enjoy pastel techniques and their versatility, but not
the dirty hands and coloured dust that accompany them, have opted
to use these special pencils. Pitt pastel pencils have a very
compact lead which is economical to use. The lead contains a high
level of pigment, making the pencils ideally suited both to drawing
lines and shading, as well as blending and merging into delicate
colour transitions. The colour selection in this range places a
particular emphasis on the muted shades and earth tones that are
especially important for pastel drawing.
Wonderfully dry and dusty stroke, just like charcoal.
Can be dry mixed and blended or used as a water colour.
Brilliant results on dark backgrounds too.
Available in 60 shades, various ranges and also individually.
High pigmentation guarantees great luminosity and opacity as well as colour-fastness and colour brilliance.
The soft lead also draws perfectly on delicate paper.
The wooden shaft protects the lead from breaking.
Jackson’s Handmade Soft Pastels are high quality, artist grade pastels. There are 200 soft and bright colours in the range, as well as a wide variety of themed selection sets.
Our Soft Pastels are made carefully by hand which makes them very soft with a smooth, buttery consistency. They have a low binder to pigment ratio which makes them rich and luminous, allowing for both subtle and bold mark making.
Their excellent lightfast qualities mean that pastel paintings created with them will not deteriorate over time. The four fluorescent colours are the only exception; like all fluorescent colours they are not lightfast.
The pastels are made solely from pigments, a bentonite clay binder, and calcium carbonate (chalk). Each pastel measures approximately 55mm in length and 15mm in diameter.

This compact set is a collaboration between Unison Pastels and the
Belfast-based artist wildlife artist Emma Colbert. It includes 16
half sticks which cover every tone you will need to create many
different types of animal portrait.Row 1 includes the all important
light range vital for painting white animals, but also useful for
highlights on every colour of animal. Avoiding white as your main
highlight will add more depth and realism to your paintings. Row 2
gives you a full range of cool shadow tones also useful for the
highlights on dark or black animals. Row 3 provides a range of
vibrant warm tones useful for highlights on brown animals, right
through to a selection of fleshy pinks vital for inner ears, noses,
and wet tongues! Rows 4 and 5 include an extensive selection of
warm and cool browns from light to dark which will cover the vast
array of brown shades we see in every animal from dogs, to horses
and even wildlife. This set is neatly comprised of Emma Colbert's
favourite shades for animal painting and whether you use the
colours directly as they are, or layer them up together, you will
not struggle to find any animal's palette in this selection.
The 30 colors within the Best of the Best Blues set have been
personally selected by Terry Ludwig as these are the colors which are
in highest demand for use when painting skies and water.
Each pastel in the Terry Ludwig range is crafted by hand with a broad
range of pigments and minimal, natural binders. This results in a
pastel which has a high-concentrated pigment and is velvety soft. Terry
Ludwig began experimenting with formulas for making his own pastels in
1995 as he was frustrated with the lack of color options available and
few choices for very soft pastels. He wanted to create a broad range of
colors that were uniformly soft regardless of the density of the hue.
There are now over 500 intense colors.
The square shape of the pastel allows you to equally create thick,
broad strokes or thin, precise lines. The size and shape of each pastel
may differ slightly as each one is handcrafted. Each pastel measures 1
1/2 inches x 1/2 x 1/2.
This set includes each of the following colours: B158, B194, T010,
T350, B010, B080, B160, B196, B310, B300, B020, B090, B162, B200, B180,
