Clairefontaine Ingres is a laid paper, which means that the surface of each sheet has a faintly ribbed texture, perfect for holding graphite and soft pastel colour. This surface is characteristic of the traditional hand-made papers of the pre-Industrial age, which were formed in sieve-like moulds of wire mesh which left impressions on the surface of the paper.This sheet is made of cotton and is naturally acid-free. It measures 50x65cm and is of the following colour: Grey.

Each pastel is crafted with a broad range of pigments by hand with minimal natural binders. This renders highly concentrated, velvety pastels. The square shape delivers thick, broad strokes or thin, precise lines where necessary. The size of these pastels are approximately 1 1/2″ x 1/2″ x 1/2″. Clairefontaine Pastelmat Pastel Board allows you to broaden your working surface as it is rigid enough that it can be supported by an easel. It is also much easier to frame your work using the Pastel Board. The board features the well loved 360gsm acid-free Pastelmat paper which has then been bonded onto a 1.8mm board. The board is acid-free and has a white core.

Faber-Castell's PITT pencils were designed for sketching as they harder than conventional pastel pencils. This means the lines you create do not disappear completely when smudged, they are also water and fade resistant. The pencils are ideal for contours, outlines and fine details and are rich in pigment. The harder core also means that they may be a bit more durable when sharpening them to a fine point. They are available in 5 degrees of hardness ranging from extra soft to extra hard.This pencil has black lead and is extra hard.

High quality drawing paper from Fabriano. 160g/m2, high rag content, acid-free, pH neutral and with high archival permanence. 36 lightfast colours. Grainy, rough paper which is neutrally sized. Very good pigment uptake and therefore best suited to soft and oil pastel but also for pencil, grey and brown chalk, gouache and acrylic.
