The print companion to Kentridge's latest film series, bringing to life
the eccentric, whimsical world of the artist's mind and his studio
In his newest film series, Self-Portrait as a Coffee-Pot, South African
artist William Kentridge (born 1955) invites us into the whimsical,
protean world of his studio (and, by extension, his mind). Kentridge
experiments with every aspect of his practice: from painting and
printmaking to his collaborative performance Waiting for the Sybil.
This experiment in embodiment and phenomenological experience
originally created for streaming (and now available on MUBI) has now
been reimagined as a printed publication. Kentridge reworks each
episode through a selection of film stills and script extracts, this
new form reinvigorating the series' investigations into the
relationship between mark-making and self-fashioning.

Jennifer Castle's teen novel You Look Different in Real Life.
Justine charmed the nation in a documentary film featuring five
kindergartners. Five years later, her edgy sense of humor made her
the star of a second movie that caught up with the lives of the
same five kids. Now Justine is sixteen, and another sequel is in
the works. Justine isn't ready to have viewers examining her life
again. She feels like a disappointment, not at all like the girl
everyone fell in love with in the first two movies. But, ready or
not, she and the other four teens will soon be in front of the
cameras again.
Smart, fresh, and funny, You Look Different in Real Life is an
affecting novel about life in an age where the lines between what's
personal and what's public aren't always clear.

Mastering Primary Music introduces the primary music curriculum and
helps trainees and teachers learn how to plan and teach inspiring
lessons that make music learning irresistible. Topics covered
include: * Current developments in music * Music as an irresistible
activity * Music as a practical activity * Skills to develop in
music * Promoting curiosity * Assessing children in music *
Practical issues This guide includes examples of children's work,
case studies, readings to reflect upon and reflective questions
that all help to exemplify what is considered to be best and most
innovative practice. The book draws on the experience of a leading
professional in primary music, Ruth Atkinson, to provide the
essential guide to teaching music for all trainee primary teachers.
Because Simon didn't understand how to communicate, the other
children didn't understand him. This lack of understanding caused
some children to tease him, and others to disregard him like the
unwanted crusts of a sandwich. When Simon stumbled into a music
practice room his whole world changed. Who would have guessed the
drum kit was magical? Becoming his friend and whisking him away to
the land of Vozori, they encounter many strange and compelling
creatures on their quest to find his voice.
