Great differences exist between the "Know yourself" of the ancient
mystery centers and that injunction today. What used to be achieved
after death is now achieved in life. To reach higher stages of
development after death we must become fully human in earthly life.
This was not always so; there has been a change. For in the center
of human evolution is the Christ event: in our time we must
experience the Christ in ourselves as light, life, and love.
Adopting the appropriate cognitive path, we become citizens of
the universe, rather than hermits of the earth.
Based on many years of medical, artistic, therapeutic and
anthroposophical experience, the author presents a concentrated
foundation for the development of artistic therapy and the training
of therapists. Although written with the painting therapist in
mind, this clearly-formulated book - the fundamental work in its
field - will also be of interest to those involved in medical and
general therapeutic work, as well as to serious students of
anthroposophy. It includes fifty full-colour examples from
Hauschka's course at the School for Artistic Therapy. MARGARETHE
HAUSCHKA (1896-1980) studied Medicine in Munich and worked as a
doctor at the Ita Wegman Clinic, where she had responsibility for
artistic therapy and helped develop Rhythmical Einreibungen, a
method of rhythmical massage. After marrying Rudolf Hauschka, she
worked at the Biologischen Hospital in Hollriegelskreuth. From
1950, she devoted herself to course and seminar activity, and in
1962 she founded the School for Artistic Therapy and Massage in
Boll, Germany.
What if our teeth are a reflection of who we are? What if dental
problems such as toothache, decay and malpositioning illustrate the
deep functioning of our true self? What if, by harmonizing our
mouths, we could allay many of our physical and mental ills? After
years of dental practice, Michel Montaud made a breakthrough that
would change his life and work completely. Without being fully
conscious of what he was doing, he engaged in a dental therapy
which would prove to be remarkably effective, going beyond the
simple framework of mouth and teeth to extend to the human being as
a whole. This guided self-therapy, which he refers to as
Dentosophy, is a true alternative to the drastic measures of
extraction, surgery and orthodontics. From personal experience, the
author states that this approach can even remedy ailments such as
chronic rhinitis and otitis, eczema, allergies, asthma, back
problems and sleep disorders. Montaud describes his personal
journey of discovery, initially to help his suffering son. Now,
after decades of experience and numerous eloquent clinical results,
he demonstrates that this human-based approach to our mouth and
teeth can stimulate, at any age, the extraordinary healing
potential of our bodies. With case studies and supporting
photographic evidence, he shows that Dentosophy improves the
general health of patients, both physical and mental. This
illustrated and accessible book offers an exciting new perspective
on our teeth and their innate wisdom.
In a radical approach to understanding current affairs and history,
Rudolf Steiner presents a method of penetrating to the hidden
causes and realities that lie behind outer appearances.
Contemporary life cannot fully be understood by an analysis that is
restricted to external events, he says. Deeper levels of meaning
are revealed when one begins to view such events as symptoms. The
causes of these symptoms - the reality behind them - are to be
discovered on other levels of existence. Steiner demonstrates such
a 'symptomatological' approach in these lectures, surveying some of
the great developments in consciousness that have helped form the
world over the last centuries. He examines the role of true
socialism, the rise of nationalism, and characterises contrasting
approaches to religion by drawing a distinction between 'the People
of the Christ' in Russia, 'the People of the Church' in Central
Europe, and 'the People of the Lodges' in the West. Amongst the
wealth of material covered here, Rudolf Steiner discusses 'the
mystery of evil' and 'the mystery of death', the birth of the
consciousness soul, the significance of the scientific mode of
thought, the metaphysical element in the study of history, as well
as specific events such as the Russian Revolution and the
suppression of the Knights Templar. He also reviews the
circumstances surrounding the publication of new editions of his
books The Philosophy of Freedom and Goethe's World View. Anyone
seeking a more profound understanding of our times will find a firm
basis for a meaningful exploration in this course of lectures.
During 1924, before his last address in September, Rudolf Steiner
gave over eighty lectures on the subject of karma to members of the
Anthroposophical Society. These profoundly esoteric commentaries
examine the underlying laws of reincarnation and karma, and explore
in detail the incarnations of specific historical figures. In
Rudolf Steiner's words, the study of karma is '...a matter of
penetrating into the most profound mysteries of existence, for
within the sphere of karma and the course it takes lie those
processes which are the basis of the other phenomena of world
existence...' In this eighth and final volume of the series, Rudolf
Steiner offers insights on a variety of subjects, including Cosmic
Christianity, the Michael impulse, the Arthur and Grail streams of
wisdom, as well as the individualities of Gregory VII, Haeckel,
Swedenborg, Loyola, Haroun al Raschid, Byron, Voltaire and others.
