of pressurized components. It is written by engineers, the majority
of whom serve on the British Standard Pressure Vessel Design
Committee. The book derives from a series of courses and seminars
run regularly in the UK and overseas by the University of
Strathclyde in conjunction with the Institution of Mechanical
Engineers since 1986. The scope and coverage has been developed
over an extended period to meet the needs of those involved with
pressure vessels as designers, fabricators, users, plant operators,
inspection bodies, researchers and senior students.
