A double bill of action blockbusters. In 'The Expendables' (2010), an ensemble cast of action stalwarts including Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, Steve Austin, Terry Crews and Mickey Rourke join forces to bring down a South American dictator. The film also boasts cameo appearances from Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis, and sees Stallone and Schwarzenegger sharing a screen for the first time ever. In the sequel 'The Expendables 2' (2012), Willis, Stallone and Statham reprise their roles, as Mr Church (Willis) reunites the formidable Expendables team, plus new member Billy the Kid (Liam Hemsworth), for what should be a straightforward job. But when one of their number is murdered by adversary Jean Vilain (Jean-Claude Van Damme), the team's quest for revenge finds them pitted against an unexpected rival.

Sean Connery returns as Secret Service agent James Bond in the second of the series, once again saving the world from the terrorist threats of the SPECTRE organisation. Bond is sent to Istanbul to steal a Russian coding machine, but comes up against two fearsome opponents also interested in the device: East German spy Rosa Klebb (Lotte Lenya), who hides a deadly switchblade in her shoe; and Red Grant (Robert Shaw), an assassin posing as a fellow British agent.

The second and final of Timothy Dalton's outings as James Bond sees 007 leave Her Majesty's Secret Sevice and branch out on his own. The trouble begins when drug baron Franz Sanchez (Robert Davi) makes an unexpected appearance at the wedding of Felix Leiter (David Hedison), Bond's good friend, leaving the groom maimed and the bride dead. Bond has no choice but to seek his revenge and, with a little help from the obligatory 'Bond girl' (Carey Lowell) and the ever-present Q (Desmond Llewellyn), sets out after the villainous Sanchez. Causing a storm on its release because of its violence and dark plot, the film was originally given an 18 certificate before studio cuts.

Timothy Dalton plays James Bond for the first time, leaving behind the high camp of the Roger Moore years for a relatively straight reading of the famous secret agent. The action this time sees Bond running around various exotic spots (Gibraltar, Afghanistan) in pursuit of a couple of seedy dealers in arms, drugs and diamonds. There is as much action and gadgetry as ever, but a slightly less tongue-in-cheek script keeps 007's romantic liaisons down to a minimum. Caroline Bliss makes her debut as Miss Moneypenny.

Batman (1989)

Double bill of action films starring Jason Statham. In 'The Mechanic' (2011), after his best friend and mentor Harry (Donald Sutherland) is murdered, professional hitman Arthur 'The Mechanic' Bishop (Statham) sets out to wreak his revenge on those responsible. When Harry's son Steve (Ben Foster) asks if Arthur will take him on as an apprentice, the two look set to become the deadliest duo in town. However, complications soon arise as the young student starts to outstrip his master. In 'Mechanic - Resurrection' (2016), after retiring as a contract killer, Bishop attempts to put his murderous past behind him by starting a new life in Brazil with girlfriend Gina (Jessica Alba). However, when Gina is kidnapped by a formidable enemy, Bishop is ordered to carry out three seemingly impossible assassinations on very high profile targets if he wants to see her alive again. Facing a race against time, Bishop must do all he can to complete his objectives before it's too late.

All four films from the karate action series. In the first film, a United States team is put together to enter the world championships. In the second, one of the team is murdered by a well-known rival, so revenge is on the agenda for the rest of the team. In the third film, while on a visit to his sister, Tommy (Phillip Rhee) discovers that a gang of thugs are planning to ruin the peace of the local community where his sister is living. The Hunger Games
Gary Ross directs this sci-fi action film based on the best-selling novel by Suzanne Collins. Jennifer Lawrence stars as 16-year-old Katniss Everdeen, a citizen of the totalitarian post-apocalyptic country of Panem, formerly the United States. Every year, the all-powerful ruling agency known as the Capitol selects one boy and one girl from each of Panem's 12 impoverished rival districts to fight to the death on live national television in a contest known as 'The Hunger Games', in which the winner is given food to feed their entire district for a year. When her younger sister Primrose (Willow Shields) is selected as a contestant, Katniss steps up to take her place in the match. Under the tutelage of inebriated former champion Haymitch Abernathy (Woody Harrelson), Katniss goes into training for the fight of her life.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire
Jennifer Lawrence reprises her role as Katniss Everdeen in the second instalment of the sci-fi adventure trilogy based on the novel by Suzanne Collins. Fresh from her triumph in the 74th Annual Hunger Games, Katniss, along with fellow winner Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson), returns home to District 12 for some much needed rest. But soon after, while on a 'Victory Tour' of the other districts, she becomes aware of growing dissent to the Capitol's rule, and realises that rebellion is in the air. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 brings the franchise to its powerful final chapter in which Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) realises the stakes are no longer just for survival--they are for the future. With the nation of Panem in a full scale war, Katniss confronts President Snow (Donald Sutherland) in the final showdown.
