Sean Connery returns as Secret Service agent James Bond in the second of the series, once again saving the world from the terrorist threats of the SPECTRE organisation. Bond is sent to Istanbul to steal a Russian coding machine, but comes up against two fearsome opponents also interested in the device: East German spy Rosa Klebb (Lotte Lenya), who hides a deadly switchblade in her shoe; and Red Grant (Robert Shaw), an assassin posing as a fellow British agent.

With Sean Connery returning to the role after sitting out one instalment, James Bond is ready for his latest mission. And what does M want of him this time? To infiltrate a worldwide diamond smuggling operation. The action - which moves between Amsterdam, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and the desert - sees Bond encounter Plenty O'Toole (Lana Wood), steal a moon buggy, get beaten up by a couple of female karate experts known as Bambi and Thumper, before finally bringing him face-to-face with a Howard Hughes-type recluse who is intent on nuclear blackmail and world domination.

When the activating button for a nuclear launch is lost at sea, it is up to James Bond to retrieve it before it falls into the wrong hands. Roger Moore once again plays 007 in this, the 12th Bond outing, director John Glen's first Bond film and the first without an Ian Fleming credit. Daniel Craig returns as James Bond 007 in the globe-trotting franchise for which the term action movie was invented. After being betrayed by Vesper in Casino Royale, Bond (Craig) turns his sights on those who controlled her. Interrogating Mr White (Jesper Christensen), Bond discovers that the shadowy organisation responsible for blackmailing Vesper is a lot more powerful and dangerous than he ever imagined. Tracing a link to Hawaii, Bond soon crosses paths with Ukrainian beauty Camille (Olga Kurylenko) who leads him to megalomaniacal businessman Dominic Greene (Mathieu Amalric), head of the organisation known simply as Quantum. Wishing to control one of the world's natural resources, Greene's organisation has a finger in every government agency worldwide, and it falls to Bond to keep one step ahead of his friends, and enemies, to stop Greene holding the world to ransom.

James Bond (Sean Connery) pits his wits against the power-crazed criminal mastermind Goldfinger (Gert Frobe) in the third of the long-running spy series. Mr Finger has secured most of the gold in the world and now plans to render the rest useless. Henchman Oddjob (Harold Sakata) helps him realise his plans, thanks to his unusually lethal bowler hat, whilst Pussy Galore (Honor Blackman) is the glamorous pilot who Goldfinger hopes will execute the raid on Fort Knox that will make him the richest man in the world. Can Bond save the day again or has he finally met his match in the man with the Midas touch? Includes the famous customized Aston Martin DB5, complete with machine guns, smoke screen and ejector seat.

When a space shuttle goes missing during a test flight, James Bond (Roger Moore) is the man who must track it down. His investigations take him to Venice (where he uses his specially customized gondola), Rio de Janeiro (where he fights steel-toothed henchman Jaws on top of a cable car), and finally into outer space (where he uncovers a ruthless plot to wipe out the human race and replace it with genetically engineered humanoids). Highlights include Bond's encounters with NASA scientist Dr Holly Goodhead (Lois Chiles) and the climactic battle aboard villain Hugo Drax's (Michael Lonsdale) space station.

Pierce Brosnan's fourth outing in the 20th Bond film. 007 has spent the last 12 months in a North Korean prison - after being captured whilst on assignment by government agents - and when he is finally freed his superiors are worried that he will not be up to the job. That is until Bond discovers that one of his former captors, Zao (Rick Yune), has teamed up with the evil Gustav Graves (Toby Stephens) and the pair plan to put the fate of the entire world in jeopardy. Bond must once again save the world whilst also keeping his quota of glamorous women in tow (Halle Berry and Rosamund Pike), using the gadgets provided by Q (John Cleese) and travelling the world in the most expensive cars. Madonna provides the theme tune and also has a cameo role.

Dan Rickard co-writes, directs and stars in this British action horror. When Dan (Rickard) wakes up on Brighton Beach with no recollection of the past few days he discovers the world he has woken up to has been ravaged by an apocalyptic zombie virus. He manages to seek refuge with a team of fellow survivors but the group are soon targeted by the army who are hunting Dan, forcing them to go on the run to avoid the military as well as the walking dead who are roaming the abandoned streets.

Alec Baldwin stars as Lamont Cranston, alias The Shadow, in this big screen adaptation of the popular 1930s radio series. Once a gangster himself, Cranston now uses his special powers of invisibility for the collective good, waging a war against his arch-foe, the criminal mastermind Shiwan Khan (John Lone). Kahn has kidnapped the scientist father of the beautiful Margo Lane (Penelope Ann Miller), built an atom bomb, and threatened to destroy New York City unless a large ransom is paid. Can Cranston locate Kahn's secret headquarters and defuse the bomb or is it bye-bye to the Big Apple?

Directed by Michael Bay and produced by Steven Spielberg, this sci-fi action adventure is the fourth instalment in the film series based on the 1980s cartoons. Four years after the invasion of Chicago, mechanic and single parent Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg) discovers what he believes to be a dilapidated truck and takes it home to repair. What he really has resting in his garage is a deactivated Optimus Prime (voiced by Peter Cullen). When government officials learn of the discovery they try to push humanitarian boundaries in the name of scientific development.

Robert De Niro and John Travolta star in this action thriller from director Mark Steven Johnson. Emil Kovac (Travolta) is a former Scorpions soldier based in Serbia on the assignment of his career: find and capture Colonel Benjamin Ford (De Niro). Wanted for being a former NATO operative, Ford has now retired from war and lives a reclusive lifestyle in the Appalachian mountains. Determined to finish what his people started, Kovac poses as a friendly European tourist and tracks Ford to his secret hideaway. As Kovac gets all the evidence he needs, he pursues Ford in a brutal game of cat and mouse, intent on bringing him to justice.

Antony Smith directs, writes and produces this action adventure starring Sol Heras and Simon Armstrong. Tension builds as the cop relentlessly pursues the cyclist through the streets of the city, desperate to get his hands on the crucial package.

South Korean aviation action film directed by Dong-won Kim. Cocky Air Force pilot, Tae-hun (Rain) is removed from the elite 'Black Eagles' flying team after performing a dangerous stunt in the middle of an air show. After being transferred to a combat unit, he meets and falls in love with Se-young (Se-Kyung Shin), the maintenance girl, but the peace is disrupted when a North Korean MIG fighter flies into the city of Seoul. Tae-hun must then use his expert low-flying skills in order to engage the enemy and protect his friends and country.

The fourth in the James Bond series, with Sean Connery once again in the title role. Global criminal organisation SPECTRE has stolen two nuclear bombs and is threatening to blow up the world. Bond infiltrates the terrorists' underwater base off the Bahamas in order to foil their plan. 'Thunderball' was remade in 1983 when Sean Connery returned to the role of 007 in 'Never Say Never Again'.

Fast-paced action movie starring Randy Couture, Dominic Purcell and Vinnie Jones. Paul Ross (Couture), a grizzled government agent, has been investigating an influential crime organisation known as The Tribe for a number of years. Just when he begins to feel that he is making progress with the investigation his personal and professional interests interconnect. When a private jet carrying a wealthy businessman and Ross' former fiancée, Olivia (Tiffany Dupont), is hijacked by The Tribe, Ross is the only government agent on the scene. The Tribe declare that they will begin killing passengers if their ransom demands aren't met, but have they reckoned with the equally proficient killing skills of Ross?

James Bond (Roger Moore), in his tenth screen outing, joins forces with a glamorous Russian spy (Barbara Bach) to outwit a megalomaniac shipping magnate (Curt Jurgens) who intends to achieve world domination by causing nuclear war between the superpowers. The film features the submersible Lotus Esprit, underwater battles, and 'Jaws', a seven-foot villain with steel teeth.

Fellow journalist Lois Lane (Margot Kidder) falls for the muscleman in tights without realising he and her bumbling colleague are one and the same. This special-effects laden adaptation of the DC Comics series also features Marlon Brando in a highly-paid cameo and Gene Hackman as evil mastermind criminal Lex Luthor. Director Richard Lester provides a slightly tongue-in-cheek sequel with 'Superman 2' (1980), in which our hero continues to outstrip speeding bullets and leap tall buildings in a single bound, this time while preventing three arch-enemies from space from achieving world domination.

In 'Superman 3' (1983), synthetic Kryptonite turns the normally upstanding Superman into a low-grade Supersleaze, clearing the path for a megalomaniac tycoon (Robert Vaughn) and a computer whiz (Richard Pryor) to take over the world. In 'Superman 4: The Quest for Peace' (1987), Superman, moved by a schoolboy's request, determines to rid the world of nuclear weapons. However, his arch enemy Lex Luthor, now a nuclear arms entrepreneur, clones Nuclear Man (Mark Pillow) from a strand of the hero's hair and the two mighty men battle it out in space.

Finally, 'Superman Returns' (2006) is a sequel set after the events of 'Superman 2'. After eliminating General Zod and the other Kryptonian arch-villains, Ursa and Non, Superman (Brandon Routh) leaves Earth to search for his former home planet, Krypton. When he arrives he finds nothing but remnants and returns to Earth.

Upon his return, he finds a Metropolis that doesn't need him anymore. Lois Lane (Kate Bosworth) is engaged to a relative of his boss (James Marsden), and to make matters worse, his arch-nemesis Lex Luthor (Kevin Spacey) has contrived a plot to build a continent using the crystals of Krypton that will wipe out most of North America. Superman must again race against time to stop the psychopathic Luthor before it's too late.

Action feature following the misadventures of a former IRA member turned drug dealer. Mickey O'Hara (Rick Crawford) was prepared to give his life for the caused he believed in - and to take the lives of others. However, it is a sign of how far he has fallen that Mickey is soon forced to kill for drugs rather than for his ideals. Forced to leave Ireland, Mickey pitches up in Los Angeles, where he is again forced to turn to seek an income by illegal means. But will he be able to outrun his deadly past?

Fast-paced action movie in which a high-flying politician's past as an NSA operative threatens to derail his new career. Chip Majors (James DuMont) is the Governor of Louisiana and everyone's top tip to be the Vice Presidential nominee of Presidential hopeful Senator Edmonds (Steven Bauer). Majors' past threatens to catch up with him, however, when a remorseless group, led by Graham (Billy Zane), launches a series of bids to assassinate him. A frantic battle for survival ensues, in which Majors will need to draw on all his former skills to make it through. Salvaging his political career from the secrets of his past may well be another matter.

There he makes the acquaintance of a band of carnival workers, including feisty knife thrower Lynne (Bosworth), and town drunk Ron (Rush), both of whom harbour powerful secrets. When Lynne is threatened by a gang led by The Colonel (Danny Huston), Yang must blow his cover and face up to his past as he draws on his expert warrior skills to protect her.
