Double bill of fantasy action films. '300' (2006), adapted from Frank Miller's comic book series, is a modern retelling of the Battle of Thermopylae of 480 BC, when the 100,000 strong invading Persian Army of King Xerxes was held back in a narrow mountain pass by 300 Spartans. King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) is given four days by Persia's King Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro) to lay down his arms and surrender. Rejecting the proposal, the battle ensues, and the Spartans are only defeated by the treachery of local shepherd Ephialtes (Andrew Tiernan), who shows the Persians a secret route, enabling them to outflank their opponents. In the second film, '300: Rise of an Empire' (2014), based on Miller's graphic novel 'Xerxes' and set before, during and after '300', Athenian General Themistocles (Sullivan Stapleton) leads the Greek Army in a war against the invasion of King Xerxes I, naval commander Artemisia (Eva Green) and their Persian forces. Themistocles allies with the Spartans but they are still outnumbered by Xerxes' men. Who will be victorious? The film was co-written by Zack Snyder and Kurt Johnstad and also stars Lena Headey, Jack O'Connell and Hans Matheson.

Robert De Niro and John Travolta star in this action thriller from director Mark Steven Johnson. Emil Kovac (Travolta) is a former Scorpions soldier based in Serbia on the assignment of his career: find and capture Colonel Benjamin Ford (De Niro). Wanted for being a former NATO operative, Ford has now retired from war and lives a reclusive lifestyle in the Appalachian mountains. Determined to finish what his people started, Kovac poses as a friendly European tourist and tracks Ford to his secret hideaway. As Kovac gets all the evidence he needs, he pursues Ford in a brutal game of cat and mouse, intent on bringing him to justice.

Brian Donlevy, Richard Davalos and Sid Haig star in this 1960s action drama about figure-eight track racing from writer/director Jack Hill. Following his arrest, drag racer Rick Bowman (Davalos) is bailed out of jail by promoter Grant Willard (Donlevy) who offers him a sponsorship in figure-eight racing. Bowman accepts and finds himself pitted against the deranged Hawk Sidney (Haig) on the track. Despite faring poorly in his first races, Bowman becomes determined to take over from Sidney's top spot no matter what it costs.

After delivering parts for the atomic bomb that would later be dropped on Hiroshima in 1945, the naval cruiser USS Indianapolis is torpedoed by a Japanese submarine while patrolling the Philippine Sea.

Left with no option but to abandon ship, Captain Charles McVay and hundreds of his crew are left stranded in open seas with no food or water. Enduring extreme hunger and thirst for days, things soon go from bad to worse as a group of sharks begin to prey on the men as they sit helplessly awaiting rescue.

Carl Rinsch directs this reimagining of the Japanese tale about the revenge of the 47 Ronin starring Keanu Reeves. With the underhand machinations of their rival Lord Kira (Tadanobu Asano) blamed for the death of their master, a group of abandoned ronin recruit British-Japanese outcast Kai (Reeves) to help plan their revenge. Vastly outnumbered, but inspired by the teachings of Kuranosuke Oishi (Hiroyuki Sanada), Kai and the other ronin engage in a bloody battle with forces under the command of Kira's loyal subordinate Mizuki (Rinko Kikuchi).

Rambo has withdrawn away from his dangerous life to a simple and secluded existance in Thailand where he spends his time chauffering locals up the river in his old PT boat. Despite trying his best to avoid trouble he is recruited by missionaries who are travelling up river to help the oppressed local people against the brutal rule of the murderous Burmese military. After witnessing a sadistic raid by Major Pa Tee Tint in which many locals are tortured and murdered the missionaries plead with Rambo to help their cause of liberating the survivors. Unable to stay behind he joins with them in what may be his deadliest mission ever.

Badly wounded and suffering from amnesia, Jason Bourne (Matt Damon) is pulled out of the Mediterranean by fishermen, and is able to recall neither who he is nor what happened to him. His only clue to his identity is the number of a Swiss bank account which has been etched into a device implanted in his body. Following the lead to Zurich, he discovers money, passports and a gun waiting for him, but also earns the attention of the security services and has to leave in a hurry. He then persuades a young woman named Marie Kreutz (Franka Potente) to drive him to Paris, where he hopes to find out his true identity and discover the reason why the CIA are taking such an interest in him. A marine on leave is forced to take on a group of terrorists in this action thriller from director Scott Wiper. Returning to his hometown on leave, Sergeant Jake Carter (Mike Mizanin) learns that his sister has been abducted by a group of radical extremists. As he sets out to track down those responsible, Carter discovers that the group's deranged leader (Neal McDonough) is in the process of implementing a murderous terrorist attack.

Adrien Brody and Lawrence Fishburne star in this sci-fi action sequel to the 1987 film 'Predator'. Produced by Robert Rodriguez, the film follows contract killer Royce (Brody) as he is abducted by alien creatures and released along with seven other professional killers onto a strange and hostile planet. Battling for survival, the group comes across Noland (Fishburne), an American commando who has managed to survive on the planet for several years by hiding out in a cave, and discover to their horror that they have been brought there as prey for a new and merciless race of vicious human-eating alien predators.

Christian Bale reprises his dual role as Bruce Wayne/Batman in this epic conclusion to Christopher Nolan's superhero trilogy. Nirattisai Kaljareuk directs this Thai historical action epic based on the award-winning 1973 novel by Sanya Pholprasit. Set in southern Mongolia over 1000 years ago, the film tells the story of the uprising of the Thai people against the mighty Han empire that enslaved and oppressed them for centuries.
