Nia Vardalos writes, directs and stars in this Manhattan-set romantic comedy. 40-something florist Genevieve Gernier (Vardalos) has had a tricky time with love. In order to avoid the complications and risks she associates with lasting relationships, she has devised a rule for herself that she may have no more than five dates with a man. But Orlok is also the vampire Nosferatu, and when he takes a shine to Hutter's young wife Ellen (Greta Schroder), it seems that the worst is indeed possible. Adapted from Bram Stoker's 'Dracula' (though with character names changed for legal reasons), Murnau's film also features some of the most famous sequences in cinema, including the count's climb up the stairs to Ellen's room, his claw-hand outstretched and his crooked shadow on the wall.
Kristy McNichol, Paul Winfield and Burl Ives star in this American drama directed by Samuel Fuller. When young actress Julie (McNichol) unwittingly runs over a white Alsation one night, she panics and takes the animal to the vet. While trying to find the stray dog's owners Julie takes him home with her where he proves useful as he fends off an attack from a rapist. Suspecting that something is not quite right with the dog, Julie takes it to a specialist trainer where she learns that the dog has been trained to attack black people. Can Julie and the trainer reprogramme the dog into being the loving family pet he once was?
Henri-Georges Clouzot co-writes and directs this French thriller set in the South American jungle where supplies of nitroglycerine are urgently needed at a remote oil field. After a Mexican oil well catches fire, the unscrupulous American oil company pays four out-of-work men (Yves Montand, Charles Vanel, Folco Lulli and Peter Van Eyck) to deliver the delicate and deadly supplies in two hulking trucks. A tense rivalry quickly develops between the two sets of drivers, a tension magnified by the unforgiving heat, the lure of filthy lucre and the rough and rocky roads where the slightest jolt could result in agonising death.
Director Fritz Lang's political thriller follows a British hunter's attempts to outrun Nazi agents after he targets Adolf Hitler. While on holiday in Bavaria, willdlife hunter Alan Thorndike (Walter Pidgeon) stumbles upon the Fuhrer's country retreat, eventually spotting Hitler in the gardens. After lining up the leader in the crosshairs of his empty rifle, Thorndike is arrested by members of Hitler's Gestapo bodyguard, who try to beat a confession out of him. After eventually escaping and navigating a tortuous route back to Britain, Thorndike is forced to seek help from local seamstress Jerry Stokes (Joan Bennett) when he discovers German agents are hunting him down.

John Schlesinger directs this American spy thriller starring Timothy Hutton and Sean Penn. Post-disaster drama written and directed by Shion Sono. Two neighbouring farmers and their families live in the small town of Oba in Nagashima. When an earthquake strikes causing a devastating accident at a nearby nuclear power plant a 20km exclusion zone is set up around the perimeter and one family is forced to evacuate while the other must stay as their home lies outwith the zone by a matter of inches. The film shows the Japanese character while dealing with the disaster and the effects it has on the community as a whole.
