Debut film for everyone's favourite psychotic slasher, Freddy Krueger. When American teenager Nancy Thompson (Heather Langenkamp) begins to suffer from nightmares, she discovers that many of her friends are having similarly disturbed nights' sleep. Their dreams are haunted by the hideously scarred former child murderer Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund) who, it soon transpires, has the power to kill them in their sleep. Freddy is out to exact his revenge on the children of those who burned him alive in retribution for his crimes. The only way to avoid Freddy's reprisals is to avoid sleep, but Nancy knows that she can't stay awake for ever.
Richard Attenborough stars in this 1960s British military drama based on the novel by Robert Holles. When British Sergeant Major Lauderdale (Attenborough) is sent to a military outpost in Africa with orders to keep the peace during a changeover in the local government, his troubles are compounded by the political views of contentious female officer Miss Barker-Wise (Flora Robson) and the amorous intentions of pretty young United Nations secretary Karen Eriksson (Mia Farrow).
Made-for-TV drama directed by Jack Gold and starring John Hurt as Quentin Crisp. The film traces the life of the flamboyant and eccentric Crisp, a homosexual British man, as he grows up and grows old in a conservative society which treats his sexuality as a criminal offence. The cast also includes John Rhys-Davies, Roger Lloyd Pack and Stanley Lebor.
Documentary featuring a live performance by alternative rock band Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds as they play tracks from their forthcoming album 'Skeleton Tree'. With the aid of interviews, behind-the-scenes footage and narration from Nick Cave himself, the film also explores the writing and recording process and touches on some of the tragic events which inspired much of the band's new material.
Comedy drama directed by Roman Polanski starring Donald Pleasence and Francoise Dorleac. George (Pleasence) and Teresa (Dorleac) are an eccentric couple who have retreated to an island off the north-east coast of Britain, where they live an isolated existence in a large, dank castle. Their peace, however, is disrupted when the island is visited by two gangsters. The cast also features Lionel Stander, Jack MacGowran and William Franklyn.
Christopher Lloyd stars in this supernatural thriller based on Dan Wells' novel. The film follows sociopathic, bullied teenager John Wayne Cleaver (Max Records) as he investigates the seemingly paranormal serial killer terrorising his rural Midwestern town. After being told by his therapist that he has the psychological profile of a serial killer, John grapples with his own homicidal tendencies, that he's developed systems to curb, as he tries to use his own insights to track down the elusive killer. As he does so, he begins to suspect that his elderly neighbour Crowley (Lloyd) isn't as innocent as he seems.
Joe D'Amato co-writes and directs this controversial Italian horror. A group of young tourists venturing to a remote Greek island become the victims of a murderous, cannibalistic creature. As they explore the island's abandoned town they become increasingly disturbed at what they discover, only to race back to their boat to find it cut adrift. When they head to a mansion on the island they unearth some clues about their stalker's identity. But this is only the start of their horror...
Double bill of action films starring Jason Statham. In 'Mechanic - Resurrection' (2016), after retiring as a contract killer, Bishop attempts to put his murderous past behind him by starting a new life in Brazil with girlfriend Gina (Jessica Alba). However, when Gina is kidnapped by a formidable enemy, Bishop is ordered to carry out three seemingly impossible assassinations on very high profile targets if he wants to see her alive again. Facing a race against time, Bishop must do all he can to complete his objectives before it's too late.
Crime drama, directed by Ben Affleck and based on the award-winning novel, 'Prince of Thieves', by Chuck Hogan. Affleck also stars as Doug MacRay, one of four masked criminals who rob a bank. Doug falls for one of the bank workers, Claire (Rebecca Hall), who is distressed after the robbery. Claire, unaware Doug was one of the robbers, reciprocates his feelings. Can Doug keep up the facade or will the law catch up with him?

Paul Newman and Sidney Poitier star as two American ex-pat jazz musicians struggling for success in Paris in this 1960s US drama. Trombone player Ram Bowen and saxophonist Eddie Cook (Newman and Poitier) moved to the French capital for its love of jazz and its liberal acceptance of black people, in contrast to their own country's hostile attitudes. When the pair fall in love with Americans tourists Connie and Lillian (Diahann Carroll and Joanne Woodward), Ram and Eddie are forced to decide whether to move back home with them or stay in Paris.
Charles Vidor directs this classic film-noir starring Rita Hayworth and Glenn Ford. Casino owner Ballin Mundson (George Macready) orders his right-hand man, Johnny Farrell (Ford), to keep an eye on his beautiful new wife, Gilda (Hayworth). Robert Zemeckis directs and co-writes this biopic about French high-wire artist Philippe Petit. On the morning of 7th August 1974, Philippe Petit (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) began a walk 1,350 feet above the ground between the Twin Towers in New York City. Using just a balancing pole to keep him upright, Petit attempted to make a journey that no man had ever made before, with hundreds of onlookers gazing up from below. The cast also includes Ben Kingsley, Charlotte Le Bon and James Badge Dale.
Action thriller starring Keanu Reeves as a former hitman who must return to the criminal world he left behind in order to seek revenge. After John Wick refuses to sell his car to Russian gang leader Iosef, the gang members break into his home and kill his dog, a gift left to him by his deceased wife Helen. It turns out that Iosef is the son of Wick's ex-boss Viggo Tarasov, head of the Russian mafia in New York. As John attempts to track down and kill Iosef he encounters assassin Ms. Perkins, who is working for Viggo, and eventually faces his former boss in an ultimate showdown.
Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly and Michael Douglas star in this sci-fi action movie following the Marvel Comics superhero. Decades earlier scientist Hank Pym (Douglas) invented a special suit that would allow him to transform to the size of an ant and give him super strength. The ageing hero approaches petty thief Scott Lang (Rudd) and, with the help of his daughter Hope Van Dyne (Lilly), Hank trains him to become the new Ant-Man. After Darren Cross (Corey Stoll) takes over his former mentor Pym's business he produces a similar suit to be worn by the military as well as a more powerful suit for himself, transforming him into Yellowjacket. This results in chaos and it's up to Ant-Man to use both his thieving skills and his newfound abilities to save the day.
F.W. Murnau's silent vampire classic. Count Orlok (Max Schreck) decides to move from his ruined castle to the city of Wisborg and hires real estate agent Thomas Hutter (Gustav von Wangenheim) to make the arrangements for him. But Orlok is also the vampire Nosferatu and when he takes a shine to Hutter's young wife Ellen (Greta Schröder), it seems that the worst is indeed possible.
Stacy Keach and Faye Dunaway star in this western depicting the legendary gunfight at the O.K. Corral. Doc Holliday (Keach) travels with Kate Elder (Dunaway), whose services he won in a poker game, to the town of Tombstone in Cochise County to visit his old friend Wyatt Earp (Harris Yulin). Upon arrival, they find the election campaign in full swing with Sheriff Wyatt standing as a candidate. But the powerful gang of cowboys in the Clanton family strongly object to his bid and the two warring factions decide to meet at the O.K. Corral to settle their differences in a shoot-out to the death.
DJ Adrian Cronauer (an Oscar-nominated Robin Williams) causes uproar when he arrives in war-torn 1965 Saigon to take over the early morning radio show. His irreverent humour soon offends the top brass, in the form of Lt. Steven Hauk (Bruno Kirby), but Cronauer becomes a hit with the GIs. Meanwhile, Cronauer shows a more sober side to his character in his romance with Trinh, a local Vietnamese woman (Chintara Sukapatana).
With Sean Connery returning to the role after sitting out one instalment, James Bond is ready for his latest mission. And what does M want of him this time? To infiltrate a worldwide diamond smuggling operation. The action - which moves between Amsterdam, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and the desert - sees Bond encounter Plenty O'Toole (Lana Wood), steal a moon buggy, get beaten up by a couple of female karate experts known as Bambi and Thumper, before finally bringing him face-to-face with a Howard Hughes-type recluse who is intent on nuclear blackmail and world domination.
Liam Neeson, Ed Harris and Joel Kinnaman star in this action drama from director Jaume Collet-Serra. Hitman Jimmy Conlon (Neeson) has no choice but to shoot and kill the son of his former boss and friend Sean Maguire (Harris) when his own son Michael (Kinnaman) is targeted by the mob. Now the ruthless Maguire seeks revenge and will stop at nothing to get it, meaning Jimmy must do all he can to protect his son and his family from corrupt police officers and contract killers. Will he succeed? The cast also includes Vincent D'Onofrio, Common, Boyd Holbrook and Genesis Rodriguez.
Pierce Brosnan's third outing as Bond sees him come up against another dangerous nemesis - Renard (Robert Carlyle), a power-crazed terrorist intent on taking control of the world's oil supplies. Bond has his work cut out defeating Renard, as the villain has a bullet lodged in his brain which renders him immune to any pain. As his mission grows more perilous Bond also encounters sultry oil heiress Elektra (Sophie Marceau), and nuclear scientist Christmas Jones (Denise Richards).
Kevin James returns to work as everyone's favourite mall cop in the sequel to the 2009 comedy. When clumsy, overweight security guard Paul Blart (James) travels to Las Vegas with his daughter Maya (Raini Rodriguez) to attend the annual Security Guard Conference, he inadvertently discovers that a heist is being planned by master criminal Vincent (Neal McDonough). As the security team of the Las Vegas hotels refuse to take the threat seriously, Blart takes it upon himself to find the crooks and catch them in the act, proving to himself and everyone around him that he's still got what it takes to be a good security guard. The cast also includes Eduardo Verastegui, Daniella Alonso and David Henrie. |
