This beautifully photographed volume surveys the Japanese
motorcycles which have helped steer the American cycling habit
since the late 1950s. Examples of first models, last models, and
the most unusual Japanese machines to hit American shores are
covered in detail with over 450 color photos and accompanying text.
Almost every cycle shown is 100 percent original or has been
painstakingly returned to its original form. The first machines
from Japan were simple, lightweight units that could be ridden by
anyone, and opened up new roads for the neophyte rider. As the
years progressed, the offerings from the Japanese makers became the
ones to beat.

In a short-lived but tempestuous and exciting life, motorsport's
Group B category attracted world-class manufacturers to develop new
models. Almost all were technically-advanced, very powerful and
striking in many ways - with Ford's RS200 being perhaps the most
attractive, and the most promising, of them all. Conceived in 1983,
built in 1985 and 1986, and rallied strongly in 1986, the RS200 not
only looked purposeful but was only at the start of a promising
career when the FIA killed off the controversial Group B category.
Although Ford had already built 200 cars to satisfy homologation
requirements, the RS200's career was brought to an abrupt close,
and Ford Motorsport's efforts were almost entirely negated. Graham
Robson was closely involved with the project throughout its
tempestuous career, noting (and sometimes experiencing) all the
concept stages, the engineering process, the styling, development,
and manufacture, followed by a four-year period when he drove
RS200s as normal road cars. This is the complete story, as related
by the top management, the designers and the enthusiasts who ran,
and competed with, the cars themselves, along with many details of
when, where and how, all the elements of the design came together.
But this is not merely a trawl through the archives, as Robson
persuaded top personalities including Motorsport boss Stuart
Turner, engineer John Wheeler and project manager Mike Moreton to
fill in the details. This is a complex, visually and technically
enthralling tale, which provides inside information of probably the
bravest sporting programme ever tackled by Ford UK

"The Life of the Automobile" is the first comprehensive world
history of the car.
The automobile has arguably shaped the modern era more profoundly
than any other human invention, and author Steven Parissien
examines the impact, development, and significance of the
automobile over its turbulent and colorful 130-year history.
Readers learn the grand and turbulent history of the motor car,
from its earliest appearance in the 1880s--as little more than a
powered quadricycle--and the innovations of the early pioneer
carmakers. The author examines the advances of the interwar era,
the Golden Age of the 1950s, and the iconic years of the 1960s to
the decades of doubt and uncertainty following the oil crisis of
1973, the global mergers of the 1990s, the bailouts of the early
twenty-first century, and the emergence of the electric car.
This is not just a story of horsepower and performance but a tale
of extraordinary people: of intuitive carmakers such as Karl Benz,
Sir Henry Royce, Giovanni Agnelli (Fiat), Andre Citroen, and Louis
Renault; of exceptionally gifted designers such as the eccentric,
Ohio-born Chris Bangle (BMW); and of visionary industrialists such
as Henry Ford, Ferdinand Porsche (the Volkswagen Beetle), and Gene
Bordinat (the Ford Mustang), among numerous other game
changers.
Above all, this comprehensive history demonstrates how the epic
story of the car mirrors the history of the modern era, from the
brave hopes and soaring ambitions of the early twentieth century to
the cynicism and ecological concerns of a century later. Bringing
to life the flamboyant entrepreneurs, shrewd businessmen, and
gifted engineers that worked behind the scenes to bring us
horsepower and performance, "The Life of the Automobile" is a
globe-spanning account of the auto industry that is sure to rev the
engines of entrepreneurs and gearheads alike.

The W114 and W115 models were enormously successful for
Mercedes-Benz, and their sales in nine years of production between
1967 and 1976 almost equalled the total of all Mercedes passenger
models built in the 23 years between 1945 and the time of their
introduction in 1968. There were many reasons for this success, but
perhaps the most important was that Mercedes expanded the range to
include a simply vast amount of variants including four-cylinder
and six-cylinder petrol engines, four-cylinder diesels; saloons,
coupes and long-wheelbase models. With around 200 photographs, this
book features the story of the design and development of the W114
and W115 ranges. It gives full technical specifications, including
paint and interior trim choices; includes a chapter on the special
US variants; gives production tables and model type codes and
explores the Experimental Safety Vehicles developed from these
cars. Finally, there is a chapter on buying and owning a 114- or
115-series Mercedes.

rivalries since the championship’s inception in 1950, including the
feud between Hamilton and Verstappen. This highly illustrated book
explores the dramatic collisions between drivers vying for the top
spot, the bitter wars of words as tension runs high and the
controversial decisions that have captivated viewers and delivered
truly thrilling racing.
From the slow burn of intense dislike between Ayrton Senna and Alain
Prost to the verbal barbs dished out by Nigel Mansell and Nelson Piquet

intensity of recent seasons.
Models covered YZF-R125*124cc*08-13 Model history Introduced in
2008, the Yamaha YZF-R125 is a sport bike aimed squarely at the
learner market. Its 125cc engine produces 11 kW (15 bhp), making it
road-legal for learners. Its striking styling is unashamedly
similar to the other R-series models such as the much
larger-engined YZF-R1 and R6, and like those models it features a
lightweight box frame and a cast aluminium swinging rear arm,
giving class-leading handling.
