explores how the vaccine Gardasil - developed against the most
common sexually-transmitted infection, human papillomavirus (HPV) -
was marketed primarily as a cervical cancer vaccine. Gardasil
quickly became implicated in two pre-existing debates - about
adolescent sexuality and pediatric vaccinations more generally.
