Die seit dem 16. XII. 1936 giiltige III. Verordnung iiber die Aus dehnung der Unfallversicherung auf Berufskrankheiten erlaubt es den staatlichen Gewerbearzten, ihnen geeignet erscheinende Stellen wie Kliniken, Facharzte, Pathologen in das Verfahren einzuschalten, ihnen die Erhebung des Krankheits- oder Sektionsbefundes zu iibertragen sowie sie zur fachlichen Stellungnahme aufzufordern. Von dieser Mog lichkeit wurde in den letzten Jahren in steigendem MaBe Gebrauch ge macht. Auch der praktische Arzt ist bei dem ganzen Verfahren an entscheidender Stelle eingeschaltet und nach der III. Verordnung schon bei begriindetem Verdacht verpflichtet, Anzeige zu erstatten. In den meisten Fallen handelt es sich um toxikologische und internistische Fragen, die oft genug auch dem Kliniker, dem Facharzt wie auch vor allem dem praktischen Arzt ziemlich fernliegen. Dies macht sich dann haufig in der Art der Untersuchungsfiihrung und in der Stellungnahme bei Begutachtungen und bei der Berichterstattung: unliebsam bemerk bar. Die Spezialliteratur ist weit verstreut, nicht iiberall zuganglich und das Nachsuchen zeitraubend. Die zusammenfassenden Biicher sind entweder veraltet oder, wie z. B. das Handbuch von F. Koelsch, zu umfangreich. Sie enthalten vor allem auch Dinge, die fiir den prak tischen Arzt wie fiir den 'Kliniker fiir die Erkennung der Krankheiten weniger wichtig sind. Dafiir kommt der fiir die Diagnose wichtige klinische Befund zu kurz. Die vorhandenen Biicher sind meist von Gewerbearzten oder Toxikologen geschrieben."
