O nata lux is the second of McDowall's set of three 'O' text settings conceived as Trinity Triptych. 
 for SATB unaccompanied 'Traditionally sung on Christmas Eve, 'O Virgo virginum' is often described as the eighth 'O' Antiphon and praises Mary, 'O virgin of (amongst) virgins.' McDowall's setting is vigorous and joyful, with intimations of medieval plainchant. O Virgo virginum is the final movement of McDowall's set of three 'O' text settings conceived as Trinity Triptych. 
 for SATB and organ Light Triumphant Breaks combines the text of the Sarum introit from the second Sunday of Advent and a translated anonymous Greek text using dancing dotted rhythms and intricate articulation. A free use of metre and contrapuntal movement make this a lively and jubilant piece that would be enjoyed by church and cathedral choirs alike. 
 for SATB (with divisions) unaccompanied One of McGlade's longer settings, As the hart begins simply, before expanding into a more complex central section with fluctuating time signatures and shifting tonalities. Ideal for advanced mixed-voice choirs in a sacred or concert setting, it is a fitting alternative to Herbert Howells's famous setting of Psalm 42.

The piece is suitable for regular worship services but most often at special praise services, choral liturgies, and musical feasts, and for recognizing the work of church musicians.

This energetic piece features an appealing combination of textures, from unison melody to four-part counterpoint (with a solo/small-group line), and builds to a full, emphatic climax at the close. The optional instrumental part may be played by any suitable melody instrument in C, including glockenspiel, xylophone, flute, and violin. 
 for SSAA unaccompanied. Consisting of two sections, this large-scale Christmas motet opens with a rich homophonic texture that is synonymous with Victoria's compositions. This is followed by imitation in the vocal lines before a triple-metre section of resounding 'alleluia's. To be performed 'with inebriated joy', Young's original setting is fast, spritely, and increasingly raucous, with a pleasing array of textures and an exhilarating key change to herald the start of the final climax. 
 for baritone solo, SAATB, and organ or piano or small orchestra Dedicated to the Oxford Vaccine Team and premiered by Sir Bryn Terfel, The Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Choir of Merton College in a special tribute concert, Joseph's Carol sets words by the composer that recount the Christmas story from the perspective of Joseph. The two expressive verses are taken by the solo baritone, with the chorus performing a macaronic refrain infused with expectancy and wonder, as well as taking on the role of the angels in a soft accompaniment to the closing words of the second solo verse. The upper three voice parts are designed to be approximately equal in strength, and the carol may be accompanied by organ, piano, or small orchestra.
