L urgenza vascolare e la vera urgenza. Data la variabilita delle presentazioni cliniche, il radiologo e sempre piu spesso chiamato in causa per problemi diagnosticodifferenziali e a lui sono demandati l inquadramento nosologico e le scelte terapeutiche dei casi dubbi. Se il tempo e l unica variabile determinante, la diagnosi deve essere tempestiva ed accurata perche si possano attuare le scelte terapeutiche idonee. Pertanto e necessario che il radiologo sappia agire con sollecitudine e precisione chirurgica . Lo scopo del volume e fornire, attraverso la presentazione di un ampia casistica, un mezzo facile, veloce e stimolante, attraverso cui il lettore possa confrontarsi.

La colonna vertebrale rappresenta il distretto anatomico maggiormente sottoposto ad indagini di diagnostica per immagini e, in tale campo, gran parte del "vecchio" conserva tuttora la sua attualita. La radiologia convenzionale, infatti, mantiene spesso il ruolo di metodica imaging di approccio, frequentemente esaustiva al fine diagnostico nelle varie affezioni, dalla patologia malformativa a quella degenerativa o traumatica. Am 7. November 1904 wurde der Neubau der "Koeniglich-Psychiatrischen K- nik in Munchen" von E. Kraepelin als eigenstandige Psychiatrische Univer- tatsklinik feierlich eroeffnet. Vom 4. bis 6. November 2004 fanden die Feierli- keiten zum 100-jahrigen Klinikjubilaum statt. Bekannte Namen wie Bernhard von Gudden, Emil Kraepelin, Franz Nissl und Alois Alzheimer waren Pioniere des Faches, die an der Psychiatrischen Klinik der Universitat Munchen - forscht und mit ihren Entdeckungen die Grundlagen fur die nachfolgende Entwicklung des Fachs im Allgemeinen, aber auch fur die Schizophrenie- Forschung gelegt haben. Besonders Emil Kraepelin, der von 1904 bis zu seiner Emeritierung im Jahre 1922 Direktor der Psychiatrischen Universitatsklinik in Munchen war, beschaftigte sich intensiv mit Verlaufsaspekten der Schizophrenie, ein wese- licher Gesichtspunkt von Kraepelins Konzept der "Dementia praecox" ist vor allem der Langzeitverlauf, der bei dieser Patientengruppe ungunstig ist. In der Tradition der Kraepelin'schen Forschung stehen neben Verlau- untersuchungen vor allem biologisch-psychiatrische Themen wie Genetik, hirnstrukturelle Untersuchungen, aber auch der Akut- und Langzeittherapie bei Schizophrenie. Diese Themen wurden von fuhrenden, schwerpunktmassig deutschsprachigen Forschern auf dem Symposium vertreten und finden sich in diesem Band wieder. Der vorliegende Band fasst die Beitrage des Symposiums "Aktuelle Aspekte der Pathogenese und Therapie der Schizophrenie" zusammen und gibt einen breit gefacherten UEberblick uber aktuelle Fragestellungen zur Schizophrenie von Grundlagenforschung bis zu praktisch-therapeutischen Gesichtspunkten. Comprehensive in scope, topics for this text were selected to focus on ""everyday"" aspects of medical health physics, its related technology, and on program structure and development. Beginning with a description of the regulatory foundation and structure of a radiation protection program at a medical institution and followed by a review of the methodology of patient dosimetry, subsequent chapters provide an in-depth review of common diagnostic and therapeutic modalities at a medical institution.
