This print medium by Schmincke is made from a mixture of stand oil, linseed oil and dammar resin. Designed for use with Mussini Oils, it will make oil and resin-oil colors suitable for relief or intaglio printmaking. It should be added to the oil color to a ratio of 1:1 and mixed in thoroughly.

Please make sure to store this print medium in a cool, dry place. Close immediately after use. Clean tools and plates immediately after use with turpentine or a suitable substitute.

When metal plates are engraved for intaglio printmaking, small ridges of cut-away metal called 'burrs' will be left either side of each linear incision. This scraper has a triangular blade, and is designed to be used during intaglio printmaking processes, to scrape away burrs thrown up during the engraving process without damaging the plate. Rockers are used to prepare metal plates for mezzotints. By repeatedly working the tool over the surface of the plate in a rocking motion, the printmaker can create a smooth carpet of burrs, which will hold ink and show up as a dark area when the plate is printed. This rough surface can then be smoothed with a scraper or burnisher, which will lighten the print in those areas.EC Lyons Rocker Weights are used to weigh rockers down. This makes the process of preparing a plate for mezzotint significantly easier, since it is not neccessary to push the rocker down onto the plate.These weights come with screws to attach them to a Lyons rocker.
