Lino cutting is a relief printmaking process. The desired design is cut in reverse into the surface of the block with lino cutting tools. Once this process is complete, ink is applied to the raised (that is, uncut) areas of the block using a roller/brayer. The design can then be printed in a press or burnished by hand.
