These grey sheets / blocks of lino are especially made for "linocut" relief printmaking. They are 3.2mm thick, have a fabric backing, and are available in a range of sizes and packs. The surface of the lino is cut away using special lino cutters or a knife to form the basis of the lino print. The block is inked up with a roller (known as a brayer) and this creates a positive image when printed onto paper or fabric. The printing process can be done by hand or with a press. You can use water-based lino ink, oil-based lino ink, or a block printing medium mixed with paint.
Grafix monoprint plates have a light blue protective coating on each side to keep the film from scratching. Just remove the blue liners before use. A pack of 3 Monoprint Plates each measuring 4x6in
Linden wood stand for Pfeil tools.
Grafix Monoprint Plates are a transparent, durable, nonporous printing surface used to create unique prints by applying paint, using stencils, tracing, or removing ink to create a print. They are economical compared to metal or glass plates and are lightweight for easy portability. Drypoint and collage techniques are also possible with these multipurpose plates. Their flexibility and lightweight nature means they are easily scratched which is ideal for drypoint. This innovative range of oil-based inks can be washed away with liquid soap and water, without the need for harmful and often more expensive solvents. Ideal for printmakers interested in a safe and non-toxic alternative. Caligo 'safe wash' inks are available for both relief and intaglio printing. Contains a small percentage of driers (less than 1%).Caligo Safe Wash Relief Inks are suitable for all types of relief printing, for example, linocut, woodcut, wood engraving, photopolymer and letterpress. Safe Wash Inks are oil-based, this means you can still use many of the modifiers used with traditional inks. For example you can use Magnesium Carbonate / Talc, Cobalt / Manganese Driers, or Caligo Wiping Compound / Tack Reducer etc. We also stock Caligo Safe Wash Oil - a washable oil that you can add to any ink from the Safe Wash range when you need to thin your ink a little.
It must be stressed that these small press will not print with the same pressure as a larger heavier studio press. If you have designed your prints with your plates, inks, paper using a large heavy press, you will not necessarily be able to reproduce them on these small presses. Putting too much pressure on the presses can damage them.

High-quality Swiss made carving tools suitable for either lino or wood cutting. Each tool is made from chrome vanadium steel, precisely forged, sharpened and polished for excellent results. Palm-handles are made of hardwood from ecologically managed Swiss forests. Full bolster and square tang for optimal stability. Internal steel ferrule under bolster prevents handle from splitting. Tools are hardened to edge of bevel. Blades electronically hardened to exacting tolerances.70mm blade length, 125mm overall length. Blade size - 4mm.pdf=pfeil-19.pdf More Information
Jackson's Polished Copper Etching Plate, made with 0.9mm polished copper plate for etching. The polished surface is protected with a plastic film so simply requires degreasing before applying ground. The back of the plate will require the application of an acid resistant stop out. Copper is a harder metal than zinc and plates will withstand more printing. It is also idealy suited to non-etching intaglio techniques such as drypoint and engraving and mezzotint.
Gamblin Etching Inks were formulated at the request of professional printmakers in the Pacific Northwest who wanted strong reliable inks for edition printing. The palette of pure intense pigments offers a broad range of colour mixing potential. Five black inks and Graphite were formulated to meet the demands of printmakers who want deep rich black inks with good working characteristics. Colour: Bone Black - PBk9 Temperature: Warm Wiping: Easy Plate Tone: Light Recommended Use: Recommended for etching, drypoint, aquatint. Highly recommended for mezzotint and engraving.pdf=Gamblin_black_ink.pdf Gamblin Etching Inks.

Gamblin Relief Inks are formulated for all relief techniques including woodblock, linocut, monotype, and Solarplate. They contain the right amount of stiffness and tack to hold fine detail, yet spread evenly on the block or plate. These soft inks should be rolled in a thin layer over the block or plate, their high pigment load will ensure a transfer of intense colour onto the paper. The palette of ten colours is designed to give artists pure pigmented colours straight from the jar, along with a wide range of colour mixing capabilities.
Made from soft, natural latex gum rubber with a precision-ground finish, Speedball Soft Rubber Brayers are ideal for use with linoleum, vinyl, or wood blocks. The heavy-duty steel frame provides enhanced durability, and the flexibility of the 40/42 durometer rubber ensures for even ink distribution especially over uneven surfaces. The roller diameter is 30mm and the widths range from 1.5in/38mm to 6in/150mm. Designed for use with water based and oil based inks.Care should be taken with the rubber rollers when cleaning and storing. Lightly dust with talc to avoid the surface becoming sticky and ensure the surface of the roller is not pressing against anything when put away.

A durable plastic square spatula for inking plates. This spatula strengthened central area for grip.
This new-generation acid resist has been specially designed as part of the acrylic-resist etching system. The lines and marks which can be generated by using the Lascaux Hard resist are comparable to those offered by traditional hard grounds. It is painted on the plate in a thin even layer which when dry can be drawn into with etching tools. As the waxy resist allows free movement of the etching needle, delicate line drawings can be made. The resist may be used in its clear form or coloured after application. Broader open marks can also be created in the layer of resist. Lascaux Hard resist is water-soluble, ready to use, nontoxic and suitable for use on copper, brass, zinc, steel and aluminium. Plates should be correctly prepared, whether unbitten or previously etched (e.g. aquatint, deep open bite). The resist is highly acid resistant and durable. It is compatible with the other Lascaux resists and photopolymer resists such as Photec. Lascaux Hard resist may also be used to create a variety of effects on collagraph plates

Akua Intaglio Ink was originally formulated for intaglio printmaking, however this ink can also be applied with a brayer for relief printmaking, monotype, and collagraphs; and it will print from any plastic, wood, linoleum or metal plate. It is a soy based ink which is made with high quality lightfast pigments. The inks have a thick consistency with minimal water content and contain no toxic driers - this means a longer working time. The ink cleans up easily with a dry rag followed by soap and water. Inexpensive liquid dish detergent can be used. Never use toxic solvents. Prints can be re-soaked immediately after printing if handled carefully. Once the print is dry, Akua Intaglio is permanent. Ink will never skin or harden in the jar or the ink slab, meaning minimal ink is wasted. Wiping the plate with Akua Intaglio is easier than wiping oil-based ink, meaning you need to spend less time cleaning up.
