Bond... James Bond. In 1962, movie audiences were introduced to the
most famous secret agent in the world, and his fleet of fabulous
motor cars. The classic Aston Martin DB5 first appeared in
Goldfinger, followed by Thunderball and several more films.
Equipped with machine guns and an ejection seat, the DB5 is
probably the most famous movie car of all time. It was followed by
the autogyro Little Nellie in You Only Live Twice; the Lotus Esprit
submarine car in The Spy Who Loved Me; Space Shuttles in Moonraker;
a Citroen 2CV in For Your Eyes Only; and the specially built Aston
Martin DB10 in Spectre. Every film featured a stable of exotic cars
for both Bond and his adversaries. In 1965 the British toy company
Corgi released a model of the DB5, complete with an array of spy
gadgets, including a working ejection seat. Over the next five
decades Corgi would go on to produce dozens more Bond models. Other
firms joined in, producing both toys for children, and highly
detailed models aimed at adult collectors. Today there are hundreds
of models for the dedicated Bond fan to hunt down. Here is your
guide to the exciting world of miniature Bond cars, and their
gadgets, with advice from an experienced Bond collector.

The classic car market is in better shape than ever, remaining
buoyant throughout the ups and downs of the motoring industry. Life
in the slow lane promises to bring back the joy of driving and can
appeal to the head as well as the heart in becoming a financially
attractive hobby. Despite the popularity of classic cars, no
definitive guide exists for the 'classic car virgin'. Going Classic
seeks to fill this gap by answering all the questions a first timer
may have before taking the plunge. It covers buying, selling,
driving, maintenance, equipment, insurance, safety and competing in
classic motorsport, and comes complete with a 'Hot 100' list of the

Forget hurrying. Forget putting your foot down and racing through sweeping bends. Forget the understeer (whatever that is). Forget the blur of a life lived too fast. This is a look at taking life slowly. It's about taking the time to enjoy journeys and places for their own sake. It's about stopping and putting the kettle on. Stopping to take a picture. Stopping to enjoy stopping.
How are you going to do it? In a camper van or a motorhome, of course.
In this book we define the best driving routes around England and Wales for camper vans and motorhomes. We show you the coolest places to stay, what to see, what to do and explain why it's special. We meander around England and Wales on the most breathtaking roads, chugging up mountain passes and pootling along the coast. We show you stuff that's fun, often free. We include the best drives for different kinds of drivers; for surfers, wildlife watchers, climbers and walkers. We include the steepest, the bendiest, those with the most interesting bridges or views or obstacles, ferries and tidal causeways. And you don't even have to own a camper van or motorhome – we'll tell you the many places you can rent one to take you on the journey.
All of this is interspersed with beautiful photos, handy maps and quirky travel writing from the king of camper vans and motorhomes, Martin Dorey. So if all you want to do is flick through it on a cold day and plan your next outing, you'll be transported (albeit slowly) to pastures, beaches, mountains and highways that make you want to turn the key and go, go, go!
Critically acclaimed author Kevin Turner (Bonjour! Is This Italy? A
Hapless Biker's Guide to Europe) heads off on another ill-thought
out adventure, aiming his heavily laden Kawasaki north towards the
towering waterfalls of Norway, before heading east on a long and
treacherous journey to Moscow. This fascinating adventure - part
sprint, part marathon - charts the perils, pitfalls and thrills of
a 6000 mile solo motorcycle journey across Europe, Scandinavia and
into Asia. The author's observations and anecdotes transform this
motorcycle guidebook into a laugh-a-minute page turner, which
inspires and entertains in equal measure.
