Shin Han Pass takes its name from a subway or metro pass. Like a travel pass that allows access to unlimited modes of transportation, ShinHan Pass allows both transparent and opaque techniques to be realised within a single tube. A combination of watercolour and acrylic, ShinHan Pass also exhibits characteristics of gouache. A low amount of gum arabic and glycerin in this paint makes brush strokes more free and colours appear more saturated.
ShinHan Pass paints are made of the world's best pigments. These vivid colours are lightfast and each colour maintains its own integrity when blending.

In order to achieve high standards regarding lightfastness,
resolubility and stability, Schmincke Horadam watercolours contains
only the finest raw materials.
The paints are bound with Kordofan gum arabic from the southern Sahara.
Due to the natural source of the binder, the gum arabic does tend to
differ slightly year on year. Schmincke continually tests their
ingredients and the best of the batch is selected to ensure the highest
quality is achieved. This means paint which has dried onto your palette
can be easily re-wetted and painted with again.

Montval® paper was designed by the famous painter Gaspard Maillol,
nephew of the sculptor Aristide Maillol, and manufactured by Canson® at
his request in the early 20th century. Since then, this paper has
acquired new qualities.
One of them is its great erasability: corrections can be made easily,
cleaning the paper with water, using a sponge or a brush. There is no
trace of watercolour left and the paper can be worked again.
Easy to use, it is accessible and suitable for everyone.
Canson® Montval® is also available as a book. With its hard cover and
elegant elastic band closure, it is the ideal companion to enhance
one's creativity when travelling. Its interior storage pocket is ideal
to keep the most precious memories.
Permanency: Absolutely Permanent Colour
A European style transparent watercolour, Holbein watercolour also preserves the brush handling qualities inherent in traditional Japanese watercolour techniques. Without ox-gall or other dispersing agents, Holbein watercolour moves slowly, thus permitting greater colour density and brush control. It is a colour line with a consistent creamy texture that remains smooth when dry without cracking, crumbling, chipping or molding in the palette. It may be re-wetted easily like a pan colour. For this reason Holbein does not produce watercolours in pan form but allows artists to create their own selection.
Fill the wells of a suitable palette with the desired colour selection. Permit to dry, then wet the colour when needed. Holbein watercolours produce brilliant transparent washes as well as powerful clean darks when used in more concentrated applications. Engineered to surpass the quality standards set by both North American and European manufacturers, Holbein watercolour is widely preferred around the world for it's handling qualities. Holbein watercolour ranks as the world’s finest.

To achieve the outstanding characteristics, like reusable paint when dried on a palette and the high control of paint flow even on soft water-colour papers Schmincke only use the best raw materials. In its coloristic appearance the total assortment is particularly harmonious, balanced and complete.
One main ingredient of the water-colour binding medium is Kordofan Gum Arabic from the southern Sahara region. Like most natural products this traditional water-colour binding medium differs from year to year. Therefore Schmincke is testing Gum Arabic every time before purchase and selects only the best crop of the respective year. This adds small but significant quality advantages. Other formula ingredients are selected equally carefully and of course are integrated in each formula in an individual optimised way to obtain a harmonious assortment, that can be easily picked up by the brush.
Another traditional quality criterion is the re-usability of the Horadam Aquarell water-colours while using the same formulation for tubes and pans. Both properties, the reusability and the control of the paint flow can only be achieved by pouring water-colours into pans in a liquid state, which is really unique.
Quinacridone Red (PV19) is a pure medium-staining red. Quinacridones are the brightest, boldest colours modern technology can offer. All Quinacridone colours excel in clarity, intensity, durability and transparency. Try mixing Quinacridone Red with Naples Yellow to produce peach.

L'Aquarelle Sennelier has been produced in the same way for more than a century using the best pigments and top quality Kordofan Gum Arabic as a bonding agent. This mix of natural ingredients produces colours which have a smooth, bright texture and offer lively, colourful shades. The Gum Arabic and honey combination offers incomparable quality of application, producing superb washes. Then, this base is mixed with pigments and carefully ground. Sennelier makes sure to wet the pigments in purified water (with no mineral salts) for 24 hours before mixing them in with the bonding agent. This improves the way in which the colours and bonding merge together, in turn bringing out the full beauty of the colours.
Sennelier watercolours are ground in the traditional way using grindstones rotating slowly so as not to heat up the paste. This operation is carried out in several stages until the paste are as fine as possible thus getting rid of any particles which might impair the perfection of the wash.
This exceptional and very high quality watercolour will help you make your works even more powerful due to the liveliness and purity of the hues. The colours mix together perfectly, offering superbly subtle shades. These smooth, intense colours will be a genuine pleasure to paint with. The addition of honey will allow the tubes and pans of Sennelier watercolours to stand up to the passing of time and each time you will paint with them you will be able to accurately translate the diversity of light, shape and hues.
