Glycoimmunology, the studyofthe oligosaccharide components ofglycoconjugates as an integral component ofthe immune system, has opened up a rapidly evolving field. It draws from a broad spectrum of technologies, ranging from classical synthetic organic chemistry, to molecular biology and beyond.
