Acclaimed director Paolo Sorrentino helms this comedy drama about a one-time rockstar who sets out on an unlikely odyssey to track down the Nazi camp guard who tormented his father in Auschwitz. Sean Penn stars as Cheyenne, the leather-clad and lipsticked ageing rocker with an uncanny knack for pertinent aphorisms despite his general air of childish petulance, who now spends his days drifting aimlessly through a millionaire's lifestyle in Dublin with his long-suffering, down-to-earth wife, Jane (Frances McDormand), and a cloud of oddball hangers-on. When news comes of his estranged father's death, Cheyenne heads to New York for the funeral, and so begins his somewhat misguided quest for justice and redemption.

After moving to London to take up her seat, Labour MP Jean Price (Keith) quickly finds her principles tested, not only by her Tory adversary, Sir Godfrey Eagan (George Baker), but also by her party's Chief Whip, Norman (Garfield Morgan). Adam (Adam Zwar) is initially delighted to be invited home by Sarah (Cindy Waddingham). However, when he meets her 'dog', Wilfred (Jason Gann), his enthusiasm wanes dramatically. While to Sarah Wilfred is a just a pet, Adam sees him as a man dressed in a dog suit - and no mere ordinary man. Wilfred is a drunken, possessive and foul-mouthed ne'er-do-well and the bane of love-struck Adam's life. Episodes are: 'Kiss Me Kat', 'Dog of a Town: Part 1', 'Dog of a Town: Part 2', 'Honey You're Killing the Dog', 'Ice Dog Cometh', 'The Dog Father', 'Dog Star' and 'Bite Club'.

The debut feature of British actor Richard Ayoade, this coming-of-age comedy follows 15-year-old Oliver Tate (Craig Roberts) in his dual quest to keep his family together and to lose his virginity before his 16th birthday. Set in Swansea, the film charts Oliver's growing concerns about the relationship between his father, Lloyd (Noah Taylor), a depressive and recently-unemployed marine biologist, and his mother (Sally Hawkins), who appears to be harbouring a crush on fawning new age guru Graham (Paddy Considine). Meanwhile, Oliver ponders how to broach the sticky subject of sex with his eczema-prone, pyromaniac girlfriend Jordana (Yasmin Paige).

Gay themed rom-com that follows the lives and loves of a group of metrosexual males. Sick of his life as a TV producer, Harry (James Lance) would sooner leaver it all behind and travel the globe, though he's currently in a relationship with struggling actor Alex (Luke de Woolfson). Meanwhile, William (Rocky Marshall) is finding it hard letting his new love interest Lawrence (Leon Ockenden) into his life, especially as his nine-year old daughter keeps throwing a spanner in the works. Finally, successful artist Tom (David Morris) is quite happy to provide for occasional model Lars (Benjamin Hart) just as long as he can keep him interested, even if there are a few betrayals along the way.
The 2009 Christmas special of the BBC part-improvised sitcom in which beleaguered parents Pete (Hugh Dennis) and Sue (Claire Skinner) struggle to get the upper hand in bringing up their three teenage children. It's Boxing Day in the Brockman household and Santa has paid a visit - along with some burglars. While Mum and Dad try to maintain some festive spirit, Ben (Daniel Roche) wreaks havoc with a mechanical hand, Jake (Tyger Drew-Honey) argues the case for pirated music and Karen (Ramona Marquez) is busy writing New Year's resolutions for the rest of the family... oh, and Barack Obama.
Based on the second of Roddy Doyle's "Barrytown" trilogy, which includes The Commitments and The Van, The Snapper is a warmly comic and moving look at working class Irish life - full of vibrant and eccentric characters, heartaches and laughs. Sharon Curley is 20, works in a Dublin supermarket, lives at home and is pregnant. If that isn't bad enough, she adamantly refuses to name the father. In turn shocked, concerned, defensive, embarrassed and angry, her own father, Dessie, is determined to support her but as the small town is driven into a frenzy of gossip, his loyalty is soon put to the test. As speculation, suggestion and rumour mount will Sharon manage to keep her secret intact? Will Dessie continue to stand by his daughter and how will the 'snapper' be welcomed into the world?
Professor Lawrence Wetherhold might be imperiously brilliant, but when it comes to solving the conundrums of love and family, he's as downright flummoxed as the next guy. His teenage daughter is an acid-tongued overachiever who follows all too closely in dad's misery-loving footsteps, and his adopted, preposterously ne'er-do-well brother has perfected the art of freeloading. A widower who can't seem to find passion in anything anymore, not even the Victorian literature in which he's an expert, Lawrence seems to be sleepwalking through a very stunted middle age. When his brother shows up unexpectedly for an extended stay just as he accidentally encounters a former student, Janet, the circumstances stir him from his deep freeze, with often comical, sometimes heartbreaking consequences for himself and everyone around him.
A box set of 12 Norman Wisdom classics. In 'On the Beat' Wisdom stars as a bumbling Scotland Yard car park attendant who gets his chance to be a real policeman after he accidentally catches some crooks. His advantage lies in the fact that he physically resembles one of the ringleaders. In 'Man of the Moment' the bumbling Norman (Wisdom) accidentally becomes the British delegate to an important international conference in Geneva. Hilarious chaos and amusing misunderstandings ensue. In 'Trouble in Store' Wisdom is taken on as a shop assistant in a department store. His ambition is to become a window dresser, and he falls in love at first sight with his dream-girl, Sally. After a disastrous start (chasing a bus on roller skates, entering a shop girl's hostel, the usual sort of thing), events conspire to make Norman an unlikely hero. In 'Up in the World' Wisdom stars as the bumbling window cleaner to Lady Banderville. He has to cope with the pranks of her son, Sir Reggie, but cleans up when he confounds a gang of kidnappers. In 'The Square Peg' Norman Pitkin (Wisdom) is keen to help the war effort, and turns out to be a dead ringer for an enemy general. Joining up with his colleague, Mr Grimsdale, he is posted to France as part of a team repairing the damaged roads. Captured by the enemy, he turns his uncanny resemblance to his own advantage and comes home a hero. In 'Follow a Star' Wisdom plays a shop worker (imaginatively also named Norman, as indeed is every character he has ever portrayed) who dreams of becoming a famous singer. His attempts are, of course, disastrous, until he is encouraged by music teacher Miss Dobson, and a crippled girl named Judy. In 'The Bulldog Breed' Norman Puckle (Wisdom) is a grocer who joins the Navy and finds himself chosen to man a rocket flight into outer space. After Norman brings his own brand of madcap mayhem to the training process, his superiors begin to suspect that they might have picked the wrong person for the mission. Also starring Ian Hunter and Edward Chapman. Whilst in 'One Good Turn' Norman (Wisdom) works at the orphanage, and promises that he will buy one of its charges a model car. But how can he get the money? Proving himself equally incompetent at all jobs, he manages to raise a few laughs along the way in his attempts to earn the cash and not disappoint the little sprite. In 'A Stitch in Time' Star Wisdom plays an apprentice butcher trying to help a sick child. His bumbling efforts end up with him being banned from visiting little orphan Lindy, but Norman will go to any lengths to keep in touch with his young charge. Whilst in 'Just My Tuck', determined to win the heart of his beautiful neighbour, Norman (Wisdom) decides he wants to buy her a diamond necklace - but how can he possibly afford it? A solution offers itself when he goes to a bookmaker's, learns the intricacies of the accumulator bet, and sets out on a major winning streak. However, whenever Norman is involved things are never quite that simple, and soon enough our hapless hero finds himself in deep trouble, creating havoc at the local racetrack. In 'The Early Bird' Wisdom plays a milkman caught up in a feud between the small, traditional company that employs him and a large, modern dairy planning a hostile takeover. Will Norman, in his typically inept fashion, manage to save his company from the onset of modernity? Finally in 'Press For Time' Norman Shields (Wisdom) is an accident-prone young reporter, who only got the job because his grandfather (also played by Wisdom) happens to be the Prime Minister. Hilarious chaos ensues when Norman is sent to cover a beauty contest. Wisdom also appears in drag as a Suffragette called Emily.
Comedy about how a nice midwestern boy's life gets turned upside down when he meets, and falls for, a wildchild. When shy, respectable Charlie (Jesse Bradford) leaves the safety of his midwest roots to study in New York, his carefully planned life takes a major detour when he happens upon, and saves the life of, beautiful, crazy-chick Jordan (Elisha Cuthbert). Although his head's telling him she's not the one, his heart has other plans, and before long he's fallen hopelessly in love - despite himself.
Nicholas Angel is the finest cop London has to offer, he's so good, he makes everyone else look bad. As a result, Angel's superiors send him to a place where his talents won't be quite so embarrassing - the sleepy and seemingly crime-free village of Sandford. Once there, he is partnered with the well-meaning but overeager police officer Danny Butterman. Danny is a huge action movie fan and believes his new big-city partner might just be a real-life "bad boy," and his chance to experience the life of gunfights and car chases he so longs for. Angel is quick to dismiss this as childish fantasy and Danny's puppy-like enthusiasm only adds to Angel's growing frustration. However, as a series of grisly accidents rocks the village, Angel is convinced that Sandford is not what it seems and as the intrigue deepens, Danny's dreams of explosive, high-octane, car-chasing, gunfighting, all-out action seem more and more like a reality.
Award winning Canadian TV comedy series from 1988. 'The Kids In The Hall' was the collective name for a troupe of comedians who performed a sketch show featuring an increasingly bizarre range of characters. Often highlighting the mundanities and absurdities of suburbia, the group would then develop them, stretching out the comic possibilities to the extreme.
More comedy from the chain-smoking American anti hero, determined to shock and anger in this recorded live performance. Includes material which some might find offensive.

BBC Scotland sketch comedy series introduces a cast of motley Caledonians. Originally a radio programme, Chewin' The Fat was the springboard from which its creators, Ford Kiernan and Greg Hemphill, launched Jack and Victor - the central characters of subsequent spinoff, 'Still Game'. Alongside the peripatetic pensioners, the programme also featured such varied favourites as; Betty The Auld Slapper who sat, open legged, retelling her invariably pornographic wartime remembrances, Ballistic Bob, to whom the most perfunctory task provided potential for unfettered rage and Eric The Activist who favoured doing unto animal abusers as they would do unto animals like pouring salt on a man salting snails then taking flight shouting his catchphrase, 'c'mon the slugs.'
At the Bayview Retirement Village the elderly are expected to grow old gracefully, enjoying their final years in peace, quiet and comfort...but not if Tom (Graham Crowden) and Diana (Stephanie Cole) have anything to do with it! Meet two elderly eccentrics who refuse to put up with the appalling food and condescending staff; in the hilariously cynical BAFTA-nominated comedy series that won Stephanie Cole a British Comedy Award in 1992.
