Fourteen Mind-Boggling Tales from the Badger State Was Joe Davis,
Civil War veteran and Menominee Indian, really the son of
Confederate president Jefferson Davis? What really happened the
night that banker H. C. Mead was murdered inside the Exchange Bank
of Waupaca? Did a flying saucer really land in Joe Simonton's yard,
and did the aliens aboard ask for a jug of water and serve him
pancakes? From pirate ships to pancakes from outer space, Myths and
Mysteries of Wisconsin makes history fun and pulls back the curtain
on some of the state's most fascinating and compelling stories.
The book was originally designed to help those looking at doing
time in the Federal Prison system, but the author feels it may be
read by anyone interested in how life goes on "behind the razor
wire." It deals with using your brain and not your muscle to make
ones life easier while doing time. It starts from being arrested to
the day of release. The legal ways to survive and the not so legal
ways are all talked about in this book. The author writes about who
really "runs the zoo," and how one can fly under the radar so as to
not be targeted by those looking to take advantage of the weak.
On the Genealogy of Morality, the classic three essay treatise of
Friedrich Nietzsche, is considered by scholars to be one of the
author's philosophic masterworks. This astounding work represents
the maturity of Nietzsche's ideas, and consists of three distinct
essays. In each, Nietzsche isolates and expands upon ideas he
expressed in Beyond Good and Evil. Nietzsche juxtaposes ideas of
weakness and strength, and notions of human preconception as
generated over millenia of hierarchy inclusive of slavery, to
demonstrate an evolution of ideas beyond traditional duality. This
text controversially introduces the 'blond beast' - a a forebear
for Nietzsche's posthumous association with Nazism and racial
superiority. Nietzsche demonstrates how people with allegiance to
ascetic ideals gained traction in society. He proceeds to discount
science as an opposing influence, together with historians and idle
thinkers, advocating for criticism of what is accepted as truth,
and a replacement for flawed definitions.
This book places the earthly life of Jesus Christ in chronological
order and is based on the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
All verses in the four gospels are accounted for either in the text
or in the comparative passages in the appendix.

Community-based natural resource management (CBNRM) is a compelling
concept - if people are allowed to be custodians of their
resources, better management of the resources will result. CBNRM is
much more complex and challenging than has commonly been
understood, but can provide a way to achieve a more equitable and
sustainable approach to the use of natural resources. This book has
a focus on Southern Africa. It is aimed at students of natural
resource management including undergraduates, conservation
practitioners, and development-sector implementing agents. It is
theoretically grounded, but has a major applied focus with respect
to understanding the why, what, and how of CBNRM in order to more
effectively guide natural resource management. It is not a manual
with explanatory details about implementation measures; rather, it
helps the reader to understand the complexity of CBNRM, and
provides a guide to other resources that will assist in enhancing
learning. Part I consists of ten chapters. After introducing the
CBNRM concept, consideration is given to the following: History as
a Determinant of Progress; Economic Foundations; Well-Being,
Livelihoods and Business; Institutions and Governance; Stakeholder
Analysis; Adaptive Management; Capacity Development and Learning;
and Communication for Effective Implementation. Part II is devoted
to eight case studies from the Southern Africa region that
illustrates some of the issues considered in Part I. They are
included to provide material that can be used as site-specific
examples and teaching aids to complement general discussion of the
issues.
