A practical guide to synchronicity and being in tune with the
universe. Philosophy and self-help blend seamlessly in Listen to
the Universe to give the reader a well-rounded understanding of the
concept of synchronicity alongside suggestions for how to
incorporate the lessons into everyday life and make listening to
the universe as natural as breathing. Arranged over the course of
24 hours, life coach Anne-Sophie Casper shares what she has learned
by letting go of the illusion of control she felt she had over her
life - an illusion that was ultimately making her miserable.
Instead, she turned her energies to trusting in the power of
"synchronicities" as supplied by the universe. Written in an
engaging tone, the book introduces the concept of synchronicity,
exploring the meaning of the word and its genesis, and providing
examples of what a synchronicity may be. It then goes on to explore
ways that listening to and noticing the messages from the universe
- the synchronicities we experience everyday - can ultimately lead
us to greater contentment and connection. Guiding the reader
through the course of a day, Listen to the Universe unpacks the
moments where our senses are most in tune with the wider world, and
shows the reader how to embrace and encourage this connection - as
well as how to incorporate the lessons this heightened awareness
can teach us. Throughout the book are moments for the reader to
pause and engage with questionnaires and quizzes to help unpack the
lessons and concepts outlined. Rooted firmly in the personal
experience of the universe, it is the ultimate practical toolkit
and guide for personal self-development and how to live a better
life.
What would it do to movements, to our society and culture, to have the
principles of healing at the very center? What does it mean to center
healing in every structure and everything we create?
As we emerge from the past few years of collective upheaval, are we
ready to face the complexities of our time with joy, authenticity, and
connection? Now more than ever, we must learn to heal ourselves,
connect with one another, and embody our values. In this revolutionary
book, Prentis Hemphill shows us how.
What It Takes to Heal asserts that the principles of embodiment - the
recognition of our body's sensations and habits, and the beliefs that
inform them - are critical to lasting healing and transformation.
Hemphill, an expert embodiment practitioner, therapist, and activist,
who has partnered with Tarana Burke and Esther Perel, among others,
shows us that we don't have to carry our emotional burdens alone.
Hemphill demonstrates a future in which healing is done in community,
weaving together stories from their own experience as a trauma survivor
with clinical accounts and lessons learned from their time as a social
movement architect.
In this life-affirming framework for the way forward, Hemphill shows us
how to heal our bodies, minds and souls - to develop the interpersonal
skills necessary to break down the doors of disconnection and take the
necessary risks to reshape our world towards justice.
Finally, a man with the answers to the questions women ask about
men! Following two decades of research into the brains and
behaviour of men, Michael Gurian answers the questions every woman
is longing to have answered and gives them the knowledge they need
to have good relations with the opposite sex. Michael Gurian
presents a new vision of the male psyche that will satisfy the
tremendous curiosity women have about male behaviour, answering
questions such as: Why are men obsessed with electronic gadgets?
Why can't men see the house is a mess? Why do men watch TV instead
of talking about what's bothering them? Why do men get such a kick
out of watching mindless action films? Why can men remember the
names of football players, who scored and when, but not yesterday's
conversation? Why do men enjoy racing their cars through red
lights? Why do men put much of their identity in their work? Why do
men tend to get more workoholic after they have kids? Why don't men
notice when a house is messy or dusty? Michael Gurian makes a
profound statement about the role of men in modern culture and
suggests a way for men and women to thrive together in intimate
separateness.
The Hidden Messages in Water is an eye-opening theory showing how
water is deeply connected to our individual and collective
consciousness. Drawing from his own research, scientific
researcher, healer, and popular lecturer Dr Masaru Emoto describes
the ability of water to absorb, hold and even retransmit human
feelings and emotions. Using high-speed photography, he found that
crystals formed in frozen water reveal changes when specific,
concentrated thoughts are directed toward it. Music, visual images,
words written on paper and photographs also have an impact on the
crystal structure. Emoto theorizes that since water has the ability
to receive a wide range of frequencies, it can also reflect the
universe in this manner. He found that water from clear springs and
water exposed to loving words shows brilliant, complex, and
colorful snowflake patterns, while polluted water and water exposed
to negative thoughts forms incomplete, asymmetrical patterns with
dull colors. Emoto believes that since people are 70 percent water,
and the Earth is 70 percent water, we can heal our planet and
ourselves by consciously expressing love and goodwill.
