Collins International Primary English offers full coverage of the
Cambridge Primary English curriculum framework (0058) from 2020
within a six-level, multi-component course, which has been
carefully developed to meet the needs of teachers and students in
the international market. Collins International Primary English is
a self-contained, cohesive course which develops reading, writing,
speaking and listening skills at primary level. The course follows
a clear structure and progression through the levels, with
carefully selected texts covering both fiction and non-fiction
genres, including extracts from the highly successful Collins Big
Cat series. The Workbooks offer a range of reading, writing and
grammar activities for students of varying language levels to
consolidate the language learned in the Student's Books. Following
the same topic-based units as the Student's Books, they provide
further practice and extension material for learners of all levels.
This series also supports Cambridge Global Perspectives (TM) with
activities that develop and practise key skills. This series is
endorsed by Cambridge Assessment International Education to support
the new curriculum framework 0058 from 2020.

CEM is the Centre for Evaluation & Monitoring at the School of
Education, Durham University. They say: Accurately measuring a
child's potential and progress is an invaluable tool in
understanding and responding to their individual educational needs.
Used by education professionals for over 30 years in over 70
countries, CEM is one of the largest and longest established
research groups providing learning assessment for children of all
ages. CEM's methods are research-based, evidence driven and
market-tested, built on a foundation of non-commercial academic
practice. This book contains 6 assessment tests offering a wide
variety of CEM practice questions. The tests offer structured
practice in the Verbal Reasoning and English elements of the exam
and the well structured marking scheme allows parents to easily
spot the areas that a child finds difficult and where additional
practice may be required. Working through these tests will provide
children with experience of formal testing while at the same time
helping them to become more familiar with various types of verbal
reasoning question. This is an excellent aid in preparing children
for their 11+ examinations and can also be used in preparing
children for grammar school, independent and private school
selection tests.

Sound Phonics prepares children for full fluency in reading,
writing and spelling by providing intensive practice in phonics. A
comprehensive phonics resource, it is fully compatible with
'Letters and Sounds' and any other incremental phonics programme.
Its graded activities, best completed with an adult, reinforce
early literacy skills through listening and speaking, and support a
multi-sensory approach. In Sound Phonics Phase Three, the child
practises letter Sets 1 to 7 and is introduced to the concept of
two or more letters making a single sound. The child works towards
correct letter formation by tracing over enlarged letters, with
arrows for guidance. 'Sound buttons', which help the child to say
and then blend the sounds in a word support reading, and 'Phoneme
frames' are used to support segmenting for spelling. Sound Phonics
Phase Three Book 2 is the fourth book in the series and a
one-per-child activity book. It focuses on: revising letter Sets 4
to 7 plus four consonant digraphs; practising 14 vowel digraphs.
Genre: Fantasy rhyming story. Learning Objectives: Word Recognition
Strand 5: Read some high frequency words. Language Comprehension
Strand 7: Retell narratives in the correct sequence, drawing on the
language patterns of stories.
