Patanjali's Yoga Sutras is the key text of yoga. Yet for many contemporary practitioners, its deeper treasures remain either unknown or mired in obscurity. Ranju Roy and David Charlton focus on 18 of the most important sutras and show how each one illuminates the relationship between the body, the breath and the mind in a practical, clear and contemporary manner. The sutras are carefully deconstructed, put into context and then developed into ideas for practice. They examine the interplay of three key terms: support, direction and space. They suggest that only by taking support on something can you establish a clear direction; and only then can a space open up to grow into. This formula can be applied as successfully to the body (in asana) as to the breath (in pranayama) and the mind (through meditation). With illustrated asana sequences and suggested practices, Embodying the Yoga Sutra is both a practical as well as a deeply philosophical book. Roy and Charlton give readers a whole new vocabulary with which to understand yoga as a living, vibrant and dynamic tradition.

In an age dominated by science many traditional concepts are being
reevaluated in light of current knowledge about the physical and
biological world. Among the many religious notions passed down from
generation to generation, belief in the soul may be the most in
need of reconsideration. Despite its slightly antiquated nuances
and its fuzziness as a coherent idea, people today still refer to
the soul quite frequently We often hear such questions as: Can the
soul leave the body? Does the soul survive death? And if so, do the
souls of the departed occasionally appear to the living? But, given
what we now know about the brain, psychology, and body chemistry,
the skeptic may well ask, what meaning or relevance can this
medieval term possibly have?

'Change the way you look at things and the things you look at will change.'Wayne DyerFor years Wayne Dyer has been researching the power of intention, the energy that surrounds all of us. He tells us how we can train ourselves to tune into this energy and step beyond our minds and egos. When we do this we become what Dyer calls 'Connectors' and make ourselves available to the energy of success.Connectors are the people whom everyone sees as lucky, the people who get all the breaks. They don't say, 'With my luck, everything will go wrong,' they just know things will go well. They trust an invisible force that will be all-providing and just don't attract negativity to themselves. This book is full of dynamic steps that we can use to tap into this transformational energy. This book explores intention - not as something you do - but as an energy you're part of. We're all intended here through the invisible power of intention. This is the first book to look at intention as a field of energy you can access to begin co-creating your life!

Is there anyone who doesn't want to stand before God without guilt or fear? Surely most people would welcome having that assurance. The good news is that you can have that assurance; you can stand before a holy God with pure joy, convinced that you are guiltless How is this possible? How can we know - right now - whether or not we're saved? Heaven's Star not only explores and settles that question, but also equips the reader to share that wonderful news with others. That message is the very heart of this book.
When you cast your throne above the stars and planets, and look down to the earth, it is then that man must ask himself if he wishes to follow or to be alone. And if he can then decide that he wants to become all that he can be, and he realizes that there is no beginning and there is no ending, that within itself is the beginning and the ending of life. And when you can transcend nothingness and achieve all things that resurges itself into creation, then creation becomes the void, the void consumes the reality, assembles creation, and moves towards potential and adapts the abilities to transcend thought into matter, matter becomes the perpetual motion of expanding awareness that the universe will recognize, transcending the chemical balance of science to recognize the ion exchange, creating a balance of ethric and matter that corresponds the course of evolution. On the following page you will find a more comprehensive explanation of this proverb. I hope that you enjoy, it was given to me from my instructor Soke Draconis.

IN PLAIN SIGHT - SEARCHING FOR A MORE EXCELLENT WAY, addresses the ongoing exodus from western churches. Census records remind us there are two to three times more Christians than go to church. Interestingly, the increase of Christianity in third world countries is remarkable. Western churches are suffering a massive dislocation from both society and from Christianity in general. What is suggested in this book is exactly the sort of process God enables/allows while preparing the next stage of a grand plan in the drama of human redemption. We must search for a more excellent way. "Tolerant Spirit" is paramount in hearing the voice of the Spirit along the spiritual journey. IN PLAIN SIGHT extends the sacred conversation to all fellow travelers aspiring to discover or regain their spiritual compasses in being faithful to a true and living God who rules and reigns beyond our many fallible conceptions of divine governance in the world, and the interaction of divine initiative and human responsibility. The problem of forging a new paradigm in the churches for a new age is a sacred conversation about rethinking divine activity and personal and corporate faithfulness. We must become much more intentional about developing a theology of grace which thoroughly encompasses serious crises and problems of all spiritual pilgrims, travelers, and persons of sincere faith.
