Communication at work just got easier We live in an age when the number of ways in which we communicate in business is constantly increasing. Years ago, we simply had face-to-face communication, phone and letter. Now we also have more, including email, websites, blogs... and yet, if we are honest, alongside this increase in the ways in which we communicate has come a decrease in the level of effective communication. This book is full of positive guidelines to help you communicate more effectively. You may not be able to change the way your company or organization works, but you can change the way in which you work. Whether you choose to read it in a week or in a single sitting, Business Communication In A Week is your fastest route to success: - Sunday: Know your aims. Who are you writing to/for? What is your message? What response do you want those you are communicating with to make? - Monday: Listen carefully as colleagues explain the challenges they are facing. When you listen, you show you value your colleagues as individuals. - Tuesday: Write clearly. Think creatively about what you want to express, organize your thoughts and then draft and edit your email or report. - Wednesday: Organize better meetings. The key to a successful meeting lies in its preparation, especially why you are holding it, who needs to be present and what you will consider. - Thursday: Give successful presentations. Prepare well, knowing your audience and your key messages, backed up if necessary by useful visual aids. - Friday: Build strong working relationships. Good working relationships are the glue that holds an organization together. How can you cultivate stronger working relationships? - Saturday: Engage effectively online by building - and maintaining - an accessible website and networking by means of social media.

This Open-Access book investigates corporate diplomacy as a legitimation strategy of multinational companies in the United Arab Emirates. The author applies a neo-institutional public relations perspective, according to which societal expectations significantly shape corporate diplomacy communication. Using a multi-method research design, the author shows how corporate diplomacy is used in the host country, what role local media coverage and relationship management fulfill, and what effects corporate diplomacy has on corporate legitimacy in the host country community, i.e., UAE residents. The findings provide substantial insights into how multinational corporations seek legitimacy through corporate diplomacy and demonstrate how these efforts and the legitimation of corporations are affected by the media and the host country's public.

Accelerate sales and improve customer experience Every day, most working professionals entrust their most important messages to a form of communication that doesn't build trust, provide differentiation, or communicate clearly enough. It's easy to point to the sheer volume of emails, text messages, voicemails, and even social messaging as the problem that reduces our reply rates and diminishes our effectiveness. But the faceless nature of that communication is also to blame. Rehumanize Your Business explains how to dramatically improve relationships and results with your customers, prospects, employees, and recruits by adding personal videos to emails, text messages, and social messages. It explains the what, why, and how behind this new movement toward simple, authentic videos--and when to replace some of your plain, typed-out communication with webcam and smartphone recordings. - Restore face-to-face communication for clarity and connection - Add a personal, human touch to your emails and other messages - Meet people who've sent thousands of videos - Learn to implement your own video habit in an easy, time-saving way - Boost your replies, appointments, conversion, referrals, and results dramatically If you're ready to influence, teach, sell, or serve in a more personal way, Rehumanize Your Business is your guide.
This book shows the role data plays in communication and marketing and how it can be used as an important source for storytelling. Because data, as a raw material of the digital age, inspires corporate strategy. Provided it is collected, interpreted and processed properly, it provides new and sometimes surprising insights into contexts and offers the opportunity to develop exciting stories from it. Stories that also create relevance with regard to corporate goals, spark dialogues and make communication effective. The author explains in an easy-to-understand way how data-based communication strategies can be turned into gripping stories. He also provides useful tools and shows why data can lie, how important its visual processing is, where its use meets ethical limits and why data protection is also a business opportunity. Using practical examples, the book offers marketing and communication experts - but also interested managers from other disciplines - numerous inspirations and new perspectives.
Yes, It's Possible to Build a Business around Your Expertise, Ideas, Message, and Personality. But First You Need to Realize - YOU ARE THE BRAND.It's no secret that more people than ever before are building thriving businesses around their personal brands. But why do some create six- or even seven-figure businesses while so many others strive to make a consistent income? Much of the personal brand space plays out in two ways. The first group of people sells a false version of themselves, thinking that image or perception alone will get them the results they seek. These folks don't realize that attention isn't owed, it's earned. The flip side of presenting a false version of yourself is oversharing in the name of authenticity. They talk nonstop about their issues, sometimes revealing way more than what is even comfortable to read about. It's as if these people are trying to sell their struggles, and it doesn't work in the long run. Like a car wreck, these folks garner attention, but it's short-lived. Here's a simple question that can serve as a litmus test for you: "Can I build a campfire around what I'm sharing?" Is there warmth? Are you building something that is attractive and inviting to others? Can you build a community around it? Are you someone whom others want to invite onto their stages, in front of their employees, or into their lives? In You Are the Brand, Mike Kim shares his proven 8-step blueprint that has helped build the brands for some of today's most influential thought leaders - as well as his own personal brand. In this practical and inspiring book, you will learn: How to identify and showcase your unique expertise How to gain clarity on your message, market, and business model Why the most effective marketing strategy is to simply tell the truth How-To-Preneur vs. Ideapreneur - Which one are you? The three kinds of personal stories that ensure you stand out in your market The simple "9-Box Grid" that shows you how to price your products and services How to cultivate "rocket ship relationships" that skyrocket your revenue, and influence

Conventional marketing strategies that focus on product differentiation and positioning often fail to deliver faster growth. Jaworski and Lurie offer a novel approach to the problem of growth based on two simple but profound insights. First, they demonstrate that in every purchase process there are a few high-yield customer behaviors that matter most in determining whether and what customers buy. Second, they show how changing those high-yield customer behaviors can consistently drive faster revenue growth. Drawing on decades of client work, the authors provide a detailed, engaging account of a proven system for accelerating - or even doubling - growth. As evidence of its value, the system has been adopted by a host of Fortune 500 firms as their marketing and growth planning process. This book forms part of the American Marketing Association (AMA) Leadership series: The Seven Problems of Marketing.
