Grafix Monoprint Plates are a transparent, durable, nonporous printing surface used to create unique prints by applying paint, using stencils, tracing, or removing ink to create a print. They are economical compared to metal or glass plates and are lightweight for easy portability. Drypoint and collage techniques are also possible with these multipurpose plates. Their flexibility and lightweight nature means they are easily scratched which is ideal for drypoint.

Grafix monoprint plates have a light blue protective coating on each side to keep the film from scratching. Just remove the blue liners before use.

Fabriano Classico watercolour paper in Fat Pads

The Fabriano Classico 5 paper is 300gsm, mould-made, 50% cotton, surface sized, acid-free and has a Hot Press (satinata) finish. The Fat Pad is spiral wire bound on the short edge with 25 sheets per pad. This high quality Italian watercolour paper is often recommended in art magazines by members of the Royal Society of Botanical Artists. Fabriano 5 paper has changed permanently because of changes to the machine used to produce it. The surface texture is a bit less smooth and the sizing has changed slightly. The manufacturer does not believe the change is significant, they feel the paper is still within their allowed parameters. But a number of artists have found the change significant enough that it interferes with their work. They are usually artists who make very precise work and need to be able to control fine lines, so most often are botanical artists using watercolour or coloured pencil.
