Langton is a superior quality watercolour paper. For many years artists have appreciated the qualities of the Langton. Made traditionally on a cylinder mould machine, the paper features a natural whiteness with a soft touch and distinctive texture. Langton watercolour paper is acid free with an alkali reserve to preserve finished pieces of work and protect against discolouration. Treated with an anti-fungal treatment, Langton watercolour paper also boasts a gelatinised surface for strength and resilience. Please note, these sheets have a 'Not' finish (cold-pressed). They have a slightly textured surface, and are not recommended for painting in an extremely detailed manner, though they should be suitable for most purposes.

This is a Pastelmat top bound pad of 12 sheets of coloured card in four different colours: dark green, light blue, dark blue and white. Each sheet is protected by an interleaf.Pastelmat is a premium 360 gsm card surface with a unique velvety texture made from a fine coating of cellulose fibres, which has the ability to grab and hold multiple layers of even the softest pastels.Pastelmat significantly reduces the need for fixative so that colours remain vibrant. It has the added bonus of being gentle on both fingers and blending tools. Though it was designed for pastellists, Pastelmat is suitable for all dry media, from pastel sticks and pencils to charcoal. It is also water resistant which means that it can be used with wet media such as acrylics or watercolour. It comes in a range of colours, all of which are acid free and lightfast.This pad measures 24 x 30cm.Clairefontaine actively participates in the development of French forests, by managing several hundred hectares of fir and spruce trees in the Vosges mountains. With regards to the paper mill itself in the Etival Clairefontaine region, it is still as dynamic 150 years after its conception. Self-sufficient for 80% of its own biological installations for water treatment, and has been rewarded a "Water trophy" by the State.

Fabriano Black Black Card is a range of acid-free sheets and pads containing uncoated card made with ECF cellulose pulp. Arches Aquarelle watercolour paper is acid-free and chlorine free, made of 100% cotton fibres which provide strength and stability. The paper is tub-sized in natural gelatine and air-dried, it can take scrubbing, scratching and erasing while keeping the original intensity of the watercolour. Arches Aquarelle uses no optical brighteners so it's natural white colour will not yellow with age and archival value is ensured. High quality drawing paper from Fabriano. 160g/m2, high rag content, acid-free, pH neutral and with high archival permanence. 36 lightfast colours. Grainy, rough paper which is neutrally sized. Very good pigment uptake and therefore best suited to soft and oil pastel but also for pencil, grey and brown chalk, gouache and acrylic.

This classic French paper has a mottled texture on one side and a flat surface on the other, both equally suitable for pastel, oil pastel, charcoal, chalk, pencil, watercolor, and acrylic. Botanical Ultra Smooth is 300gsm, mould made from 50% cotton and is acid free and calcium carbonate buffered. The absence of acid guarantees excellent permanence and resistance to ageing. The colour is a very close match to Fabriano 5, and it does contain optical brighteners to give a bright white colour. It is ideal for botanical watercolour painting as well as charcoal, pastels and graphite. |
