Millford is the newest watercolour paper developed by St Cuthberts Mill. It is styled on the discontinued Whatman watercolour paper, after artists grieved the loss of this unique type of watercolour paper. It is mould made from 100% cotton (just like the original Whatman), and it's beautiful surface is created using natural woollen felts. It is deliberately created to have a high resistance to water, so it’s washes perform very differently to traditional watercolour papers.

One of the world's finest water colour papers. A 100% cotton watercolour paper, with a structure giving it strength and a characteristic feel. The manufacturing process, using a cylinder mould, makes it possible to obtain harmonious and varied grains with rough, cold-pressed, hot-pressed quality and four deckled edges. The paper is gelatin-sized, and then air-dried, so that the colours retain a fine rendering even after being scraped and erased. Its natural whiteness (no optical bleaches), mildew protection and neutral PH mean that the paper has a very long shelf-life.
The natural toothy surface of Art Spectrum Colourfix paper is a superb substrate for dry media such as soft pastels, charcoal and pencils. The tough, toothy surface can be sanded, scrubbed soaked and reworked over and over. Langton is a superior quality watercolour paper. For many years artists have appreciated the qualities of the Langton. Made traditionally on a cylinder mould machine, the paper features a natural whiteness with a soft touch and distinctive texture. Langton watercolour paper is acid free with an alkali reserve to preserve finished pieces of work and protect against discolouration. Treated with an anti-fungal treatment, Langton watercolour paper also boasts a gelatinised surface for strength and resilience. Please note, these sheets have a 'Not' finish (cold-pressed). They have a slightly textured surface, and are not recommended for painting in an extremely detailed manner, though they should be suitable for most purposes.
