Clairefontaine Pastelmat Pastel Board allows you to broaden your working surface as it is rigid enough that it can be supported by an easel. It is also much easier to frame your work using the Pastel Board. The board features the well loved 360gsm acid-free Pastelmat paper which has then been bonded onto a 1.8mm board. The board is acid-free and has a white core.
Clairefontaine Ingres is a laid paper, which means that the surface of each sheet has a faintly ribbed texture, perfect for holding graphite and soft pastel colour. This surface is characteristic of the traditional hand-made papers of the pre-Industrial age, which were formed in sieve-like moulds of wire mesh which left impressions on the surface of the paper.This sheet is made of cotton and is naturally acid-free. It measures 50x65cm and is of the following colour: Red.

It is made from a mixture of cotton and linen, and is sized with gelatin. Each sheet is deckle-edged, and bears the stamp and watermark of the RWS. At 425gsm, these are thick, high-quality sheets. They have a rough, textured surface, and are not suitable for detailed work. Artists wishing to produce detailed work are advised to try the Hot-pressed or Not versions of these sheets.
