St Cuthberts Botanical Ultra Smooth is a 300gsm paper which is mould made from 50% cotton, and which is suitable for use with watercolours, watercolour pencils and acrylics (as well as many dry media). It is acid free and calcium carbonate buffered. The absence of acid guarantees excellent permanence and resistance to ageing. The colour (High White) is a very close match to Fabriano 5, and it does contain optical brighteners to give it a bright white colour. It is ideal for botanical watercolour painting as well as charcoal, pastels and graphite.Pads made of St Cuthberts Botanical Ultra Smooth paper are available in three sizes: A3, A4 and A5. These pads contain 10 sheets and are glue bound.
Arches Aquarelle watercolour paper is acid-free and chlorine free, made of 100% cotton fibres which provide strength and stability. The paper is tub-sized in natural gelatine and air-dried, it can take scrubbing, scratching and erasing while keeping the original intensity of the watercolour. Arches Aquarelle uses no optical brighteners so it's natural white colour will not yellow with age and archival value is ensured. For many years artists have appreciated the qualities of the Langton. Made traditionally on a cylinder mould machine, it features a natural whiteness with a soft touch and distinctive texture. Langton watercolour paper is acid free with an alkali reserve to preserve finished pieces of work and protect against discolouration. Treated with an anti-fungal treatment, Langton watercolour paper also boasts a gelatinised surface for strength and resilience. Please note, these sheets have a rough finish. They have a textured surface, and are not suitable for painting in a detailed manner.
