Ampersand Museum Series Pastelbord is a clay and gesso coated hardboard panel with a granular marble dust finish comparable to a sanded pastel paper, except more durable and more versatile. It can be used with wet or dry traditional pastel techniques or with acrylics, and more. The coating is pH neutral and non-yellowing, making it a truly permanent museum quality surface.

One of the world's finest water colour papers. A 100% cotton watercolour paper, with a structure giving it strength and a characteristic feel. The manufacturing process, using a cylinder mould, makes it possible to obtain harmonious and varied grains with rough, cold-pressed, hot-pressed quality and two deckled edges. The paper is gelatin-sized, and then air-dried, so that the colours retain a fine rendering even after being scraped and erased. Its natural whiteness (no optical bleaches), mildew protection and neutral PH mean that the paper has a very long shelf-life.

This surface is characteristic of the traditional hand-made papers of the pre-Industrial age, which were formed in sieve-like moulds of wire mesh which left impressions on the surface of the paper.This sheet is made of cotton and is naturally acid-free. It measures 50x65cm and is of the following colour: Red.

Created in consultation with the President and Council of the Royal Watercolour Society, this neutral white, artist-quality paper is designed for use with water-based paints. It is made from a mixture of cotton and linen, and is sized with gelatin. Each sheet is deckle-edged, and bears the stamp and watermark of the RWS. Please note, these sheets have a slightly textured surface, and are not suitable for extremely detailed work.
