Regarded by watercolourists as one of the best watercolour papers available, this paper is 100% archival and very durable due to the fact it is mould-made and gelatine sized. Saunders Waterford has a watermark in the corner for authenticity and 2 deckle edges which are visually beautiful and perfect for float framing. This paper will not discolour or fall apart over time and is made of 100% cotton. This paper is much more durable than lower grades of paper and it can withstand scrubbing without falling apart.
Botanical Ultra Smooth is 300gsm, mould made from 50% cotton and is acid free and calcium carbonate buffered. The absence of acid guarantees excellent permanence and resistance to ageing. The colour is a very close match to Fabriano 5, and it does contain optical brighteners to give a bright white colour. It is ideal for botanical watercolour painting as well as charcoal, pastels and graphite.
