Jacksons Two Rivers Handmade Watercolour Paper : NOT surface : 200lb : 22x30in : 10 sheets Made exclusively for Jackson s by the Two Rivers paper mill in Somerset. This paper is conservation quality, made with 100% cotton and linen rag and very hard sized. This means that the surface is incredibly tough, allowing the artist to work the surface for much longer than with more absorbent artists papers. Because the paint is not drawn into the paper the pigment dries to a sharp and brilliant finish. The inclusion of linen in its make-up results in an unusually tough surface which will resist much lifting out, scrubbing and re-working. Reassuringly, the 400 year old mill is also hydro powered making it very environmentally friendly. TR has a unique random surface texture unlike the mechanically even weave of most other branded papers. This also means that there is not a right or wrong side as both sides are identical. As well as watercolour, our papers are used for other media including pastels, oils, printmaking, photographic processes and many types of mixed media. The NOT surface is slightly rougher than most.

One of the worlds finest water colour papers. A 100% cotton watercolour paper, with a structure giving it strength and a characteristic feel. The manufacturing process, using a cylinder mould, makes it possible to obtain harmonious and varied grains with rough, cold-pressed, hot-pressed quality and four deckled edges. The paper is gelatin-sized, and then air-dried, so that the colours retain a fine rendering even after being scraped and erased. Its natural whiteness (no optical bleaches), mildew protection and neutral PH mean that the paper has a very long shelf-life.
Somerset is a world leading traditional printmaking paper. Mould made from 100% cotton to high archival standards. The surface has a gentle texture, soft and good-tempered nature, and is a strong and stable enough sheet to ensure excellent printing. It remains flat after printing and offers durability and long life to finished editions of work. All materials are screened in the mill to ensure minimal environmental effect. No hazardous chemicals are released into the water ways. Pulps are sourced from sustainable sources (no rainforests are harmed in making the papers), and the cotton linters are a by-product from the textile industry.

This is a high quality paper made using pure materials to archival standards. It's attractive surface is created using natural woollen felts that give it a distinctive random texture. Appreciated for its excellent colour lifting abilities. This is an extremely forgiving watercolour paper valued by professional and amateur artists around the world. Please be aware that it is not possible to order more than 5 of this product at one time. Millford is styled on the discontinued Whatman watercolour paper, after artists grieved the loss of this unique type of watercolour paper. It is mould made from 100% cotton (just like the original Whatman), and it's beautiful surface is created using natural woollen felts. It is deliberately created to have a high resistance to water, so it’s washes perform very differently to traditional watercolour papers. Saunders Waterford paper is archival which means it will not discolour or fall apart over time and is made of 100% cotton rag. This paper is much more durable than lower grades of paper because it is gelatine surface sized and it is mould-made, both of which mean it can take scrubbing of the surface without falling apart.
For all dry media and multiple washes. Paper shade: Ivory. Surface: Vellum. Sheet count: 62 sheets/124 pages. With both internal and surface sizing, these papers have exceptional wet strength that supports the application of multiple washes. Similarly, just as the paper's sizing retards water absorption, pigment stays on the surface of the sheet. The result: remarkably glowing colour. Stillman & Birn bindings are equally rugged. The hardbound bindings - stiff when new - are designed to be broken in. The spines get eased in and then lay completely flat, accomodating both two-page drawing layouts and flatbed scanning. Bound in the United States, this sketchbook system offers artists a choice of three paper surfaces: • Vellum - distinctive tooth, suitable for all dry media, and will also accept multiple washes• Cold Press - Substantial tooth, enhanced wet and tear strength, suitable for multi-media artwork• Smooth - Suitable for pen & ink, coloured pencils, water-based markers as well as watercolours

Please note that while Saunders Waterford High White papers are noticeably whiter than the traditional Saunders Waterford paper, they still have a pale cream appearance. This is because it is not currently possible to whiten the paper to a bright white without compromising light-fastness by using Optical Brightening Agents. The whiter shade of Saunders Waterford High White paper is achieved by adding a high white lightfast pigment with good long-life properties, as used in some watercolour paints. Artists grade watercolour paper is archival which means it will not discolour or fall apart over time and is made of 100% cotton rag. This paper is much more durable than lower grades of paper because it is gelatine surface sized and it is mould-made, both of which mean it can take scrubbing of the surface without falling apart. Please note, this product has a Not (cold pressed) surface. The surface of the paper is slightly textured, and is not suitable for extremely detailed work. Most painters will find it suitable for most purposes. |
