The old, top-down approach to leadership doesn't work any more. What we
need is a more flexible, creative approach – one that empowers people
to do their best work, rather than tells them to do so.
In Creative Leadership, Rama Gheerawo applies the mind of a design
expert to the twenty-first-century organisation. In particular, his
book shows how success in the future will increasingly be dependent on
a mastery of three basic principles: creativity, clarity and empathy.
Drawing on his own experience in leading over 100 design projects with
government, business and the third sector, it sets out a blueprint for
engagement and success that applies to everything from small
enterprises, to large multinationals.
Due to the impact of globalization, business practices have been
constantly evolving throughout the twenty-first century. Teachers
and instructors are faced with the challenges of educating future
business leaders on evolving concepts such as diversity, cultural
environments, and the integration of countries and economies.
Through these challenges, it is critical for educators to
understand teaching tools and pedagogical practices that bring this
globalized outlook into the classroom. The Handbook of Research on
Cross-Cultural Business Education is an important research
publication that explores the role of teaching tools used in
business education to increase competitive business skills and make
them applicable in cross-cultural business environments. It also
provides business and management educators with teaching practices
that promote learning via exposure to global cultures. Featuring a
broad array of topics such as pedagogical modeling, cross-cultural
learning, and social responsibility, this is an important resource
for business and management educators, business managers, policy
makers, researchers, business professionals, and graduate students.

"do not understand what is involved in transforming organizations."
His book, The Ever-Evolving Enterprise: Guidelines for Creating
Your Company's Future, is intended to remedy that, focusing on ten
areas proactive business leaders must address as they guide their
companies through everyday activities and into the future. The book
stresses the need for firms to evolve to remain in sync with an
ever-changing marketplace. It explores the multifaceted nature of
transformational leadership and offers specific guidelines, ideas,
and techniques leaders can institute to seize new opportunities and
develop innovative products and services that offer sustainable
competitive advantages. But it also invites executives to take a
closer look at how they lead their firms, promoting a fresh
psychological framework that will keep business leaders-and their
companies-anticipatory, perceptive, agile, innovative,
results-oriented, and able to execute so that their visions become
realities. Hundreds of cautions, insights, tips, and techniques
Candid "reality checks" throughout Chapter-ending quizzes that
profile the extent to which a firm is demonstrating the qualities
of Ever-Evolving Enterprises Numerous figures that profile the
multidimensional nature of organizational transformation Sources

Business-IT strategic alignment grows in importance as
organizations strive to link business and technology in light of
their digital transformation agendas. Our research study used a
field survey design to examine (a) the role of knowledge management
processes in the relationship between contextual factors and
alignment in a multinational corporation (MNC), and (b) the role of
IT projects in the relationship between alignment and the
performance and effectiveness of an MNC.The results of our research
study had at least four implications to leaders in MNCs: (a) the
effects of top managers' knowledge of IT on strategic business-IT
alignment; (b) the importance of business-IT alignment to
organizational performance and effectiveness; (c) the importance of
internal context to knowledge integration; and (d) the role of
senior management in knowledge management and strategic management
of IT. A theoretical and practical perspective of business-IT
strategic alignment in MNCs is provided.
Harold Smart has been leading people of all ages since he was in
his teens, and to get the job done, he's had to live up to his last
name. For instance, when he teamed up with his brother-in-law to
open a service station in a mid-sized town, a competitor told them
they?d be out of business in six months. Someone was out of
business that soon?but not them! In this guide for business
professionals, Smart shuns excuses from managers and business
owners who don't get the job done. He reveals how to: avoid flawed
management models; cultivate loyalty among employees; eliminate
unnecessary layers of management; and succeed by keeping things as
simple as possible. When you come right down to it, good management
is all about solving problems. To get better at problem solving,
it's imperative that you listen to people who?ve been in the
trenches fixing things their entire lives.
